Eddie Vedder kicked off a month-long U.S. solo tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, R.I., on Wednesday, transforming the quaint venue into explosive domain.
Vedder dazzled his fans with the sweet sounds of the ukulele by performing tunes from his latest solo album Ukulele Songs. His 25-song setlist also included some of his earlier hits, taking spectators on a nostalgic trip that goes as far back as the early 1990s with songs like “Porch” and “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town.”
Vedder’s musical versatility was evident throughout the concert, as he switched between soft, delicate tones on the ukulele and gritty, grungy chops on his Fender Stratocaster.
