The October issue of Guitar World magazine features Dweezil Zappa righteously showing off a unique piece of rock history — a half-Hendrix, half-Frank Zappa Strat.
Zappa tells Guitar World that the unique axe bears the body of the Fender Stratocaster played and burned onstage by Hendrix, and a Frank Zappa-installed neck.
“There’s nothing comparable to this in the world of musical instruments,” Zappa told Guitar World. “We don’t have a piano that Beethoven and Mozart both played. But we do have a guitar that both Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa played at various times in their careers.”
Zappa told the magazine he discovered the Strat’s body (with substantial damage and a missing neck) under a staircase at the Zappa home in Los Angeles, and worked diligently with the Fender Custom Shop to bring it back to life. The result is a refurbished Hendrix-Zappa Strat with a rosewood neck and stunning appointments.
The issue also features a collector’s pull-out poster of this modified beauty. Pick up your copy of Guitar World here for a look at this unique guitar.

That’s super cool and respect to Dweezil…. but didn’t it used to have a reverse headstock maple neck and tortoiseshell pickguard??
