In getting into the holiday spirit, Los Angeles folk-rockers Dawes added their take of Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmas Time Is Here” to The AV Club’s Holiday Undercover series.
Think you’ve never heard it? Yeah, there’s a good chance you actually have if you’ve seen A Charlie Brown Christmas.
It’s an emotional Christmas tune that definitely brings back childhood memories. And for the band, it was an interesting and challenging choice.
“It was weird, and it was fun for Tay and I to get into the weird chords and stuff that Vince Guaraldi is using, because Dawes doesn’t really ever do that,” said singer Taylor Goldsmith.
