New Jersey alt-rockers Cymbals Eat Guitars will release sophomore album Lenses Alien on Aug. 30. The John Agnello-produced album was influenced by some of the band’s favorite artists — from Pavement and Spiritualized to Modest Mouse and Wilco — and is now streaming in its entirety over at Spin.com.
Opening track “Rifle Eyesight (Proper Name)” immediately lets you know what you are in for. The nearly 9-minute long noise-rock/shoegaze track features vocals by 3/4 of the band with multiple gear shifts in instrumentation.
