Former Nirvana leadman Kurt Cobain’s signature Fender Jaguar debuted to media in Paris back in September at an event that featured three French bands who paid tribute to the late singer.
French music blogger Sémi Souames of Muzicosphere.com also got the chance to test out the Jag, which is one of Fender’s most distinctive models ever.
The company produced Cobain’s battle-hardened left-handed Jaguar down to the last unusual detail, including its worn finish, dual humbucking pickups and unique electronics and controls (which were already in place when Cobain acquired the guitar in summer 1991).
Souames offered his initial take on the guitar, stating, “I just had the time to start thinking about how the hell could I save enough to be able to afford the Jaguar Kurt Cobain signature guitar. Yes, I really liked it!.”
