Bloc Party Play New Tunes And Old At Outside Lands

There is a lot to be happy about if you are fans of the British alternative rock band Bloc Party.

After a two-year hiatus for members of the band to pursue other projects,  new album Four is due out later this month.

Bloc Party has had its share of hits in the past, and if their performance at San Francisco’s Outside Lands music festival on Sunday is any indication, the band’s upcoming tour should not be missed.

Four’s “Octopus” came early in their set, and is a dance-rocker that can get anybody moving.

“Banquet” from 2005’s Alarm was another one of the tunes that got the capacity crowd at the Twin Peaks stage jumping.

Earlier tunes like “Hunting for Witches” and “This Modern Love” were also solid finds among this Bloc Party setlist.

Bloc Party’s set was pretty loose, with the guys obviously having a good time trading licks on guitar.

As frontman Keke Okereke noted, the hopping Twin Peaks stage was a good place to be as the sun went down.

The abundance of female festival goers on shoulders of their friends or significant others and scattered crowd-surfers agreed.
