Beyoncé, Swift Dominate Grammy Awards


Beyoncé and Taylor Swift dominated last night’s 52nd annual Grammy Awards show. The I Am … Sasha Fierce singer collected six trophies last––the most ever for a female artist on a single Grammy night­­. Swift nabbed four awards, also breaking a record by becoming the youngest artist to win the coveted Grammy for album of the year.

Congratulations are in order for Jeff Beck and his Grammy win for best rock instrumental performance on “A Day in the Life.”  Beck joined singer Imelda May onstage last night for a tribute to guitarist Les Paul.

Fender-wielding bassist Mike Dirnt of Green Day also performed last night with his band, likewise adding to their Grammy collection as 21st Century Breakdown earned best rock album.

Country superstar Keith Urban’s “Sweet Thing” was chosen as Grammy’s best male country vocal performance.

French alternative rock band Phoenix became a Grammy-winning band last night with Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix picking up best alternative music album.
