Benmont Tench Performs Solo Tracks on WFUV

Benmont Tench has recorded with countless of luminaries, such as the Rolling Stones, U2, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Fiona Apple and Don Henley. And that’s not to mention his regular gig as a founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

But Tench recently checked another box on his star-studded resume with You Should Be So Lucky, the stalwart keyboardist’s first solo album. The collection of 12 tracks includes appearances by several of Tench’s compatriots, including Ryan Adams, Ethan Johns, Blake Mills, David Rawlings, Ringo Starr, Don Was and Gillian Welch, along with Petty himself.

Tench recently stopped by the WFUV studios in New York to talk about the album and perform a few songs.

You can watch Tench play the title track below.  Click here to hear the full session.
