In 1977, Eric Clapton went into the studio to record his fifth solo album with Jamie Oldaker on drums, Carl Radle on bass, George Terry on guitar, Dick Sims on keyboards, and Marcy Levy & Yvonne Elliman on vocals. What came out was an album called Slowhand.
For the record’s 35th anniversary, Universal is releasing a deluxe version featuring the original album plus a stack of bonus recordings including several never-before-heard outtakes from the original studio session. Also included is the complete Hammersmith Odeon concert recorded in April 1977, just a week before the Slowhand recording sessions began. Pre-order it here.
In advance of the release, enjoy these behind-the-scenes audio segments with Clapton, Oldaker & Marcy Levy (now Marcella Detroit) hosted by Dan Neer.
