Bands Go Analog For Transistor Six

Bands heading through Austin, Texas, lately have been getting the analog treatment from Transistor Six.

Paying homage to the BBC Peel Sessions, artists invited to the studio at Frank (4th and Colorado) in Austin to record a few songs and take pictures using Lomo film, which captures interesting shadows, lighting and color saturation.

The sessions are also sometimes videotaped on Super 8 film to add to the analog experience.

Already, Transistor Six has hosted bands such at The Duke Spirit, Band of Skulls and One Eskimo.

Listen to The Duke Spirit’s recording of “Villian” and “Everybody’s Under Your Spell” off their 2011 release, Bruiser, below:

According to Transistor Six’s website, many of the shows are by invite only and not announced until the day of the show, so access is only available to those following via Facebook or Twitter.
