Brit singer/guitarist Anna Calvi recently released One Breath, the follow-up to her critically acclaimed Mercury-nominated 2011 eponymous debut. Calvi’s sophomore effort was recorded in six weeks at Blackbox Studios in France with producer John Congleton, and has been described as a bolder, darker and angrier affair than her debut.
“One Breath is the moment before you’ve got to open yourself up, and it’s about how terrifying that is,” explains Calvi. “It’s scary and it’s thrilling. It’s also full of hope, because whatever has to happen hasn’t happened yet.”
Calvi was recently featured in an episode of La Blogothèque & Converse’s series “Empty Space,” performing new track “Love of My Life.”
