The 2011 Fender Showcase in Anaheim, Calif., revved up last night with a private dealer event.
Fender signature artists Eric Johnson and Yngwie Malmsteen caught up for a brief visit by the Fender Custom Shop booth.
Johnson later delighted the audience by partnering with E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren for an impromptu acoustic jam. Watch below.
Jimmy Vivino, fresh off the set of Conan, checked out each and every one of the Fender Custom Shop guitars.
“This is like being a kid in a candy shop!” he exclaimed.
Signature artists Frank Bello, John 5 and Reggie Hamilton were also spotted mulling around the Fender and Squier booths.
Elsewhere on the showroom floor …
Big news came out of the Gretsch booth with the official unveiling of the Gretsch Custom Shop G6128T-GH George Harrison “Tribute” Duo Jet. Harrison’s son Dhani was on hand to celebrate the tribute model.
Eddie Van Halen also made his annual Showcase visit, passing the bulk of his time in the EVH booth.
