The October issue of Vintage Guitar magazine featured the 1960 Showman, the forceful, high-powered performance amp designed with large arenas in mind.
The article describes the birth of the amp, which came along during the West Coast’s booming surf scene.
Vintage Guitar also digs deep into the revolutionary amp’s intricacies, describing its specs in detail.
“The impressive lineup of six preamp tubes along the back of the chassis tells us this Showman includes the beloved ‘harmonic vibrato,’” says Vintage Guitar. “A near-as-dammit emulation of true vibrato rather than mere amplitude-modulating tremolo.”
