I bought this as a cheaper way of adding a fretless bass to my collection (I have two other fretted jazz basses). I've fitted it to a 2013 MIA Jazz bass and (not surprisingly) it fits perfectly - it was a quick and simple job to swap over the tuning machines from the fretted neck although I did have to drill a small hole to fit the string tree. I had some flat wound strings on the bass which I've kept on and it sounds amazing; I haven't even needed to adjust the neck yet. The fingerboard is very well finished and true - no buzzes anywhere along its length (and I have the strings fairly low). If you're interested in getting a fretless bass and already own a fretted Jazz, this is definitely worth a consideration if you're happy to swap out the fretted neck. I'd love to see Fender provide a unlined fretless neck too, particularly if it had an ebony fingerboard, but in the meantime, I'm very happy with this one.
