I got both 4 and 2 switch pedals and I love the simplicity of use. I got the Bassman, the Marshall and the Princeton as my favorite amps. The Marshall is great for ACDC, Gary Moore, ZZ Top and the Bassman for quiet Blues.
You don't need stomp boxes or any other pedals. Just make sure you got the sound right at home and save it in a preset. On stage, you'll be relaxed and you can concentrate on playing.
I played last week on stage and nobody figured it was an electronic amp.
It's not just great value. It can compete with any amp out there. Nobody will tell this is electronics. It sounds absolutely great!

As a former professional guitarist, I decided after several years to get back into playing. So I bought a new Fender American Standard Stratocaster guitar. The difficult part was choosing an amplifier because I really did not want to spend over $1K. I think I spent over a week researching amps online. Especially by watching Youtube videos. As with any guitar player, sound and playability are important. But with me, reliability comes first. But I usually search for sound quality first, and then check to see how reliable it is.
To be honest. Fender was not my first choice in an amp. I was blown away by Blackstar and Egnater amps. They seem to be excellent sounding amplifiers with high versatility. But they have a major downfall which completely has me avoiding them altogether. Reliability. Apparently they are some of the least reliable amps on the market, which a ridiculous number of problems straight out of the box. And for $1K+ cost, that is highly unacceptable to any serious musician. So, I quickly ended up with a dilemma in finding a great sounding amp that is also reliable.
I was about to give up my search when I happened to come across the Fender Mustang IV V2 on the Zzounds website. I was quickly intrigued by the look, the specs, and most of all....the price. It costs half of what I planned to spend. And I had my heart set on a 2x12 combo. And after a few days of research and watching more Youtube videos, I became convinced that this was the alternative. So I ordered it.
I have been extremely satisfied with this amp. it gets great sounds. Doesn't have that bad fuzz problem you find with Line 6 modeling.
The only downfall with this amp is the inability to use a compressor and stomp box at the same time. As that would expand this amp's ability 1000 percent (hint hint Fender). Otherwise, it is great the way it is. And will be even better when the speakers are broken in.

The Mustang IV is an amazing amplifier. I was never really into modeling amps until I had to scale down my collection a bit due to the fact I just plain ran out of room. Since I only play for myself, I really didn't need the Marshall, Carvin Bel Aire, Baseman, and Deluxe Reverb. All very nice tube amps to have, but too much real estate for a non-performing musician. The Mustang IV replaced all these and then some for me.
Now, if I want the Gretsch 6119 -1962 to play through an AC30 or early Marshall to get that sound, I just turn the knob to that amp. I still have the Deluxe Reverb sound for the Telecaster and a bunch of others. The ability to change amps on the fly is a great feature.Changing effects is pretty easy too. I have not learned all there is to know about this amp yet but there is a learning curve to consider. The software that came with the Mustang IV included Fender Fuse and is a very cool program. I have a dedicated laptop set up just for the amp that runs it. The built-in tuner is a nice touch as well.
There is definitely more than enough power for a small club and way more power than I really need. But, hey... I did give up lots of tubes.
I do like this amp and recommend it.
Tried one lately and I will definitely buy it soon. It really is versatile and sounds beautiful! While not as intuitive as it gets to program, once used to the logic implemented, it gets quick to get pretty much any sound you want. It's also lightweight and relatively inexpensive for all it does. This is not a one trick pony. It's perfect for the real life musician that needs to adapt to many scenarios. It really sounds sweet. Go try one at your dealer.
This amp is great. I'm playing against my brother drumming and with him sometimes and I can hear myself. 3-4 times I've stepped on the stomp while it's on a mode called Acoustic. there's a mode that sounds the exact same on fuse.fender.com it's called acoustic interface
