This is a great guitar, the shape, neck and fishman pickups are a great combo! Original setup of the Telecoustic is not the best. However, here are some of the setup changes that made mine a favourite instrument!
Remove the neck and ensure truss rod is at the optimum, mine required several turns and twists to give perfect alignment.
The action was quite high, however before you start filing the bridge insert a business card through the full insert area of the neck, then add a further 1.5mm plastic or strong cardboard to the bridge end of the insert. Then if necessary, add a small piece of cardboard to the head end of the insert to ensure no string buzz across the frets.
I would recommend 11 gauge strings and don't worry about fret buzz as the first strings are wound on, by the time all strings are fitted and tuned there should be no buzz and a fantastic high speed action that translates across the acoustic and electric sounds perfectly.
My preferred EQ setting is to have bass and mid set to about 11 o'clock and the treble set to 1 o'clock.
I bought this guitar as a traveler, usually I take an electric guitar when traveling on business to gig or fill in time at the hotel. Sometimes separating the neck and body for transportation has been a prerequisite - I have wanted to be able to move a small acoustic in a similar fashion, before the Telecoustic, no guitar matched the requirement. This guitar is playable and so much fun at a gig or just jamming!
Hope this helped.
