One of Fenders best values

I have studied all of Fender's Stratocaster's.
I chose the Classic Player 50's Strat, as a matter of fact I bought 2 in Shoreline Gold.
I liked the Vintage Oval Shaped Tuners, the decal, glossed neck, beautiful paint job, 2 point floating tremolo. It is a blend of old with the new.
I wanted to make a comment about some of the other reviews.
The Tuners are nice and tight, but are not the locking type.
It does not have a laquer finish.
The pickup selector is the standard 5 position switch.
Somebody made a comment about position 4 is neck and bridge pickups together.
As far as I know, the only Strat capable on neck and bridge and all 3 pickups together is the Deluxe Players Strat, another great value packed guitar. The Deluxe at $650 and Classic at $800 are Fenders most bang for the buck Strats. Also the Squier CV 50's Strats are great little guitars and lots of fun to play.

WOW! I tested this babe in a store in Italy last year and haven't been playing another guitar ever since. Got my eyes on the Shoreline Gold and, well, guess it was love at first sight! After a couple of minutes of playing, I knew I wasn't gonna leave the store without it. The neck feels great in my hands, the playability is great and the sound is just awesome! This is probably the ONE guitar I'll ever need! :)
Definitely recommended!!!!!

My "Go To" Strat

(5.0)

Semi-Professional Blues Rock Classic Rock Pop Rock

I purchased a sunburst model of this guitar back in 2007 because it looked like an anniversary model Strat that I own and I wanted a cheaper model as an alternative for gig use. This soon became my main "go to" guitar.
The finish on it is faultless and the construction is comparable to guitars that demand a much higher price tag.
The custom wiring adds another dimension with an almost Tele type of sound with the pickup switch in position 4 which switches neck and bridge pickups instead of neck and centre pickups like other strats.
The playability and action is great and the sound in all switch positions excellent.
My only dislike was the gig bag and I ordered a Fender hard shell case at the time that I bought the guitar. That's just a personal thing as I've never been a fan of gig bags.
I can highly recommend this to anybody that has an opportunity to buy one of these models.

I own 4 strats. This one was raffled off at a fund raiser and I lost. My wife conspired with a classmate of mine to pick it up and present it to me for an anniversary present. It was worked over by the man who donated it for the cause. He put in a duncan vintage in the neck, 60s fender pickup in the middle, and texas special in the bridge. I take this one with me when I try out USA strats people have for sale used. I play mine and find it hard to justify getting a different one. This one is my favorite and all 4 are made in mexico models. Mine is a 2007 model. Surf green and v shaped neck. That neck feels great in my hands.

I prefer this over all the guitars I have had over the years. Stratocasters just feel so comfortable on a strap and fit my body well, even though it seems to keep growing in the middle area.

Just Terrific

This was my first Stratocaster. After months of testing different models, I found this was easily the best sounding and feeling I played. I originally planned on paying far more, but was quite pleased to find my ideal guitar at a very reasonable price point. The clean tones blow everyone away, and perfectly compliments my R&B and blues playing style. Within moments this guitar became my main instrument, rendering my Gibson a glorified paperweight. The soft V neck is wonderful for rhythm/chord work, and had perfect tuning stability straight out of the box. Easily one of the best investments I've made, and I plan on keeping this guitar for good.

My only complaint would be the lack of finish options. The obligatory sunburst and black made me unsure about purchasing the guitar many times, hoping for more of the 'character' of the finishes in the classic series 50's stratocaster. I ended up going for Shoreline Gold, which I have really come to love. With a red tortoise pick guard it's a very classy, refined and (on the right occasion) funky look. I can see, however, that this one 'unique' finish would not appeal to everyone.
