I have numerous bass amps from top brands. 8x10 cabs down to 1x15 (and everything in between). I have been looking for a class D amp for gigs and stumbled upon this little freak of nature. Here's what you need to know. (Yes, I read your mind)
WHY I BOUGHT THIS AMP?
1. It looks like a Fender amp again. Not that it matters but it caught my eye. 2. Price to power ratio was good. (now if it only sounds good) 3. xlr and extension cab outputs. (obvious benefits for F.O.H. and my stage sound)
WHAT I DO I THINK NOW THAT I HAVE ONE?
1. Surpassed my expectations for versatility, tone and ease of use (I'm not that bright and figured it out in 5 seconds) 2. Lighter than you think! (great for small to med venues and you don't break your back OR the drummers because he always has to help you lift it onto stage) 3. I could be biased so I will tell you what my band thought upon rehearsing with this amp. They immediately told me to take the old amp (1200w with 2x8/1x15 cab) home. They made me record the new album with this amp and it sounds great. (BTW, they still have to tell me to turn down with this 2x10 combo, HA!)
So you can throw big $$ at some heavy, bulky, vintage head and cab. Have to haul that beast around (but feeling cool because you have this monster rig, rookie) OR get that vintage tone, carry your amp with one hand, AND still afford to fix the tour van in Kansas (seems to be where everyone breaks down) simply by purchasing this extraordinary little box of bottom end. OH, and don't forget, IT LOOKS LIKE A FENDER, YOUR ACENTRIC GUITARIST WITH HIS "EVIL TWIN" WILL HAVE A PLAY MATE ON STAGE!!!
"That's all I have to say about that"

I knew about the release of this combo, and since I saw the news I knew I had to own one ! I always felt the lack of headroom and power from my other amps I own because I have to compete with loud drummers and guitarists in my band; we practice at fairly loud levels and I have to say this combo does what is supposed to do ! Since the low freqs put a much big amount of pressure on the speakers, it's always a blessing to have more volume than you need so your sound doesn't get squashed ! Thank you Fender for such a great product ! I almost forgot, this product is LIGHT for the power it outputs !

Fender has done it again...for too many years i've lugged around all the heavy amps you can name..been playing since i was 13...now 65..AND STILL ROCKIN'..what a blessing the new Rumble Series Bass amps are!! I've just gotten the Rumble 500 [and i ran thru all of the "lightweights"]..with both my J and P bass..WHAT A DIAMOND AMONGST THE GEMS!!! Power to spare twofold..LIGHTWEIGHT..a vast array of tone and sounds LIGHTWEIGHT..excellent vintage looks..LIGHTWEIGHT..and playing bass is my second love...the guitar is first..but WHAT AN AMP..Oh..why were'nt these Gems around 30-40-years ago..just think of all the $ I could have saved on Chiropractors..Physical Therapy..Back Surgeries..anyway...bass players...unite…don't even give it a second thought..go plug in..and keep picking the amp up and pinching yourself to make sure its not a dream..and mess with the sound pallette the amp has to offer..it'll cut thru anything and everything!! All the sounds you're looking for...and if smaller output is your need..try the 100-200 watters..they all aim to please!! NOW Fender...HOW ABOUT SOME REALLY VERSATILE GUITAR AMPS ALONG THE SAME LINE...Lightweight,etc...oh..did I mention the weight of these amps!! There is none!!! Go now get 1 or 2...and relish the joy!!!

I had been looking for a small yet powerful combo and needed more power than Ampeg's BA-115 and BA-115HP and Orange's 100 watt Crush. I also wanted something light and the aforementioned Orange is nearly 60 pounds. Plugged into the 500 watt Rumble at the Scottsdale Guitar Center and was amazed at the tone and volume it produces. It seems impossible that an amp with no tubes whatsoever and that weighs only 36 pounds could deliver amazing tone and this much oomph. Blows away Ampeg and Orange combos in the same price range and made me walk right past the GK and TC Electronic lightweight offerings. Fantastic equalization section and there's a brightness switch that can make it extra crispy The 2 10" speakers sound great. I've never used overdrive before but now I'm wondering how I ever lived without it. You can dial in just a little to get that cut through the mix sound that Geddy Lee and Chris Squire are known for on so many legendary recordings. Or you can use the vintage button for a more James Jamerson, Motown vibe. Pinching myself, I figured it was all a dream. Surely all this mojo was only because I was in the Fender showroom playing a Fender Jazz. Nope. Took it home and plugged in a 4001 Rick and dialed in heaven, leaving my Basswitch preamp and EBS compressor at home. The Rumble passed the test filling the first gig's small bar with bass at less than 25% volume and then a large outdoor patio gig at max band volume-- the latter with a drummer and 2 guitarists one of whom was playing a Les Paul and a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. I don't even have the extension cabinet yet and I'm confident that a large outdoor stage can be handled once I add the cabinet. Way more options on the back of the amp then you would expect with practice amp stuff like iPod in and headphone out coupled with Pro XLR out for a PA system and effects send. Great job Fender. Absolutely unbelievable solution at a great price. Did I mention how light this thing is?
