This is one of the best Stratocasters I've ever experienced.
The guitar has an early 1960s feel. The glossy neck isn't too thick or too thin. The vintage style bridge intonates well; it also works well for palm muting.
After being strung with medium gauge strings(.11 - .49) this guitar sings through my Blues Junior III. The pickups are great. I will put them against boutique vintage-style Stratocaster pups.
I am a proponent of hard-tail Stratocasters. Not having a wang-bar reduces weight; it also improves sustain and tuning stability.
I would like to see Fender continue this model. I would also like to see more hard-tail Strats, like the Big Apple Stratocaster from the mid 1990s. Not everybody enjoys the vibrato arm.

This is the second "high-end" MIM Fender I own (the other being a Classic Player 50s Strat). I also own an American Standard Strat. I think this guitar is every bit as good as the others. I love the fat neck. The 9.5" radius and medium-jumbo frets make it very easy to play without fretting out. For whatever reason, the design of this guitar makes it feel like you are playing strings one gauge lower. I have 10's on mine but they feel like 9's.
Many people will be scared away by the hard-tail. But if, like me, you don't use the trem, this is so much better. The guitar stays in tune better. If you break a string, the tuning of the others won't go out of whack. And it actually reduces the weight. My Cray Strat is fairly light-weight (between 7 and 7.5 lbs).
The pickups sound great, especially the in-between settings. Lots of quack. I don't plan to ever change them. And this is coming from someone who almost always changes stock pickups.
Finally, the finish (Inca Silver) is absolutely beautiful. It has a bit of sparkle to it. Pictures really don't do it justice. And it looks great with the mint pickguard.
Overall, this is a really solid Strat. And I'm really just having a blast playing it.
