I first saw the Chris Aiken model P Bass last year while surfing the web at a friend's house. It caught my eye and my interest immediately. I started researching the bass for used prices, bass forums online for reviews, youtube videos of demos and they all fared above average. So I purchased a new one via an online retailer. The bass arrived a few days later and has since been my "Go To" bass in both my Live performances and the Recording Studio while laying bass tracks for my band's debut album. The bass has Duncan Design pickups-PB-105s, which are the same as their Basslines Quarter Pounders and are made specifically for modern hard rock and Metal music, which is exactly what I play! The playability is effortless and the growling mids, deep lows and crisp highs pour out of this instrument. A must own for any professional bassist.

One of the best built instruments I have the priviledge of owning. Plays well, looks great, sounds even better. The pickup screams and the sustain is fantastic. Only thing I have done is swap the mirrored scratchplate for a black one and the vintage look is complete

Fthe first thing I noticed was the lack of a tone knob. Wide open is your only option, much like Chris' playing. There was a time when I scoffed a Squire product, and labeled them entryl level basses. Those days are gone. Are Squire basses the same level of construction as an American standard, but they are built well beyond the pricepoint. It is light weight and comfortable. A little nose heavy, it will dive if you do not have a good leather strap will help negate this. The neck is comfortable and very playable. My only gripe about the neck is the clear coat on the back. As a personnal preference, I like a satin or oiled neck. The sound is raw, wide open, and energizing. If you drag your figures, these pickups will announce it to the world. If you are Chris, your playing so fast, it doesn't matter. This is a worthy bass at any level. You can't match the price and get the same build quality or sound. Now I have to get my sandpaper and have at the neck. Enjoy this bass.
