This is probably one of the best basses I've ever played. It's my first ash bass and it sounds and feels beautifully. It's definitely one of the most resonant basses I've heard, and plays very nice with stainless steel strings. The rosewood fretboard makes sure it's not too harshly bright. I'm not a fan of small and thin necks but I do like this one, not as thin as a Jazz bass but nice and comfortable.

Seymour Duncan SPB3 and Badass II bridge, which in the latest models it has been changed with a Fender High Mass bridge, what more can you want from a modern sounding P bass? Nice fat tone, loads of sustain, enough mids to get you through the mix. This bass will sound killer with both fingers and pick.

The only downside to it I guess it's the vintage style truss rod. I removed the strings and neck the first few times I adjusted it but then I found out that by removing the pickguard and using a long and thin screwdriver you can easily do the deed. Not the most comfortable thing in the world, but beats removing the neck every time, possibly causing the wood chipping. The pickup screws were the ones that come with Seymour Duncan pickups. Since the screw head is quite large, it was impossible to remove the pickguard without removing the pickup screws. Luckily I found some other Fender stock screws and changed them. No problems whatsoever.

The light relic seems quite unnecessary but you will soon forget about it. Since it's already full of scratches and bumps you probably won't realize if you did one or if it was already there!

On a final note: The lacquer felt strange at the beginning. Since I was the first person to open it from the box I had the feeling as if it was still a bit damp, not sticky or leaving residues, but it did have a very strong scent. Now, four months later, seems to be alright.

Even though it has some light relic I can already imagine this instrument aging wonderfully. Give it a try if you have the chance!

Smoothest Bass Ever

Semi-Professional Blues Funk Jazz Classic Rock Country

I recently bought this simply on the basis that I tried it in store and it was far superior to any of the jazz basses they had. It feels like it's been played for years, even though it's brand new! Pickups are excellent, hardware is brilliant and love the addition of the badass bridge. The tone is excellent and would fit anything from hardcore rock, blues and jazz which is lucky as I play all of these styles. It really does cover all the bases (if you'll pardon the pun). Definitely worth looking at even if you're not interested in buying it, you may well be after a trial run!

Amazing Bass Right out of the box!

I just bought this sweet Nate Mendel Precision after wanting something heavier than my Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass. And i have to say, this bass is worth it!

Right out of the box the bass felt amazing. After a few minor adjustments it was ready to go and it has been one pleasant ride from that moment on. I have to admit that the relic paintjob is kind of unnecessary, but that doesn't spoil the fun.

The bass is capable of playing music like Foo Fighters and Lamb of God, but will also sound great tuned down some steps (As in my case for playing Killswitch Engage). It really keeps a bright tone even when tuned down to a B.

All in All an amazing bass.

Though i never recieved the fender/foos neckplate..

Nice for smallhands

An all around nice bass. An ash body with a 7.25 radius is a perfect match to my 66 Jazz! The fret work was very nice and an improvement from older MIM basses.
BIG problem... HORRIBLE setup from the factory! Strings just slapped on and not even centered on the bridge saddles. Action at the nut was too high, as was the bridge. Access to the truss rod was a real chore as the pick guard/body truss rod access was useless!! A new buyer should not have to do this much work on an instrument at this price range. It was beyond normal "New instrument" adjusting. After all the re-adjusting the bass plays wonderful.
