I've owned this guitar for a little over a year now, and I've never been happier with an instrument purchase. I play professionally for a few smaller bands. We play bars, weddings, parties, etc. this guitar has handled every situation I've thrown at it, and always surprises me with it's vintage tones. I love the modern wiring scheme, putting the middle tone in control of the bridge and middle pickup. It makes the guitar so tonally versatile! I also appreciate the vintage 3-way switch and wiring diagrams included with the guitar, for those who want the total vintage package. The soft V neck is the most comfortable shape in my hand and feels like playing air. I gig hard, so the thin nitrocellulose finish is beginning to show some checking and a bit of gig damage, to my delight, because it just adds to the vintage look and feel. This is my workhorse, and it will be a part of my collection for many years to come.

I was in the market for a new Strat this year . Went to Guitar Center on the hunt for an anniversary model . Before I even got to the 60th anniversary I spotted this . Ash Body , Maple soft V and that Flash Nitro finish is Exceptional ! Bought it and haven't looked back . It has proved to be an excellent instrument . Lot of gigs on it and it never disappoints . I would recommend this series very highly and I plan to look at others in the series to fit in my road arsenal.

Every day a new guitar is introduced. The latest, greatest guitar ever made. Pretty wood, fancy paint and millions of dollars spent on advertising. This is not about smoke and mirrors, however in my opinion it is about the best representation on a vintage guitar ever made. I am 57 years old and I was fortunate enough to own an original 1956 Stratocaster, and yes I wore it out. I now own the American Vintage 56 Stratocaster and it is a better guitar than the original. That is correct, Better! Lets face it, Leo and his early employees were artist and master craftsmen but they did not have access to the tools and wealth of information that the Fender Company has today. I think he would be very proud and definitely give anyone his permission to put his name on the headstock. This guitar is the big brother of the original 56 and if you buy one I assure you, there will be no regrets. I bought the guitar from a dealer, however through the process I talked to the factory on two or three occasions and it could not have been more pleasant.
Trust me, Buy The Guitar! Ed....

I purchased my sunburst Strat on ebay. It is something I normally would not do, but I got a good deal on it. When it arrived and I opened its tweed case I saw a beautiful, simplistic instrument. I also smelled the sweet smell of nitro finish. The finish is beautiful, and the neck is like heaven :). The guitar sounds like a Strat is supposed to and is very resonate. I would recommend this guitar for blues and rock (jazz) players. It's not really for metal.

After the vintage '65 I bought last month, I found a marvelous aged white blonde '56. Really light, mine seems to have a one piece swamp ash body.
The neck, fatter than my '65, holds really well in hand. The tone of these new pickup sounds so good!
Finally, the look of this guitar is just so great!
I love it!

I have the aged white blonde model, this is a magical guitar. Truly one of the best guitars I've ever played. I went into the store thinking I might get a maple neck American Standard, but when this was put in my hands it was one of those "this is my guitar" moments. I had also played the American Standard, but it was not even in the ballpark (although still a fine guitar) of this Vintage '56. This guitar has such an extraordinary subtle response to touch, and such a fine tone (or many tones). It has a striking beauty and the neck feels amazing with your hand wrapped around it. I bought this model new a few months ago and it gets better and better the more it is played. It's like 1956 made brand new, there is a freshness and excitement to this instrument, I still feel happier just opening its tweed vintage case...

This guitar is not a trip through time, it is past coming back to your present hands. If you want to experience a Strat as it was you should give this new old stock a chance, will be your chance too
I purchased my Red Stratocaster 1956 Vintage series in 1980 and have loved and played it ever since.
It had fantastic tone and playability when it was new and thirty three years later it sounds and plays even better (like a fine wine).
The only thing I changed was the pickup selector, from a 3 way to a 5 way (which was supplied).
If only Fender could bottle the essence that only age brings.

One of the very best NEW guitars I have ever purchased other than CUSTOM MADE by CUSTOM Lutherier.
I love playing this guitar and get almost every tone I need in the studio from it. I always make sure she is with me for GIGS and studio work
