“Fender Bass Amps have surpassed the competition by combining serious power with serious tone. They are the new ‘Standard’.”
– Frank Bello, Anthrax
“For the first time in my life I am completely satisfied with my bass rig. I only wish I had a good enough excuse—and a big enough stage—so I could turn up all the way!”
– Mike Dirnt, Green Day
“Simply put, my Fender bass equipment gives me the clarity and consistency that I just wasn't getting with the ‘other guys’.”
– Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boy
“It's just right! The classic Fender tone complete with modern features and oodles of power and it's mine, all mine!”
– Reggie Hamilton
“This is simply put, the best thing to happen to bass amplifiers in years...very 'classic' with insane headroom. The only amps I've used at big outdoor festivals where you can be loud and clear enough without monitors and still have room to turn up! ”
– Mark Robertson,
The Legendary Shack Shakers
“With my TB-1200 head and 810 PRO cabinet, there's more than enough headroom for any application. I need a lot of clean power for playing upright, and this thing has it in spades. The passive tone stack is a brilliant return to a more classic EQ section, something sorely missing in modern bass amps, while it may not be as surgical as a 4 band parametric, it is a much more musical EQ that adds character to the overall tone. Combined with the single band smart curve Vari-Q, any tone or style is attainable. The tube overdrive is awesome! I love being able to go from dead clean with a ton of headroom to Dee Dee Ramone or Cliff Burton at the touch of a button (or footswitch). 1 meg input impedance means I can run a piezo upright pickup right into the front of the head with out buffering or preamps, and there is no loss of tone. Did I mention this thing is LOUD?”
– Geoff Firebaugh, Hillbilly Casino
“When I'm playing a Fender I don't need to drink to have a good time! Nothing comes close to the sound I want like my Fender® bass rig.”
– Randy Bradbury, Pennywise

IMPORTANT! Do note that what you hear right here is what you get! These files give you the actual raw sounds of this amp—no bells and whistles to enhance anything. All were recorded using only the D.I. out of a TB-600 head, no microphones. All were cut using either a passive Jazz Bass® or Precision Bass®. We didn’t retouch these sounds to make ’em more slick and uniform. What you hear right here is what this versatile amp really sounds like.
Some of the files include a trio (guitar, bass and drums) and some are just a rhythm section. Despite being perfectionists around here, we resisted the urge to polish these sounds in order for you to hear the truly great and truly authentic Fender tones of this amp as they sound not just in our labs and offices, but out there in the real world where you play; where you gig, where you record and where you rock.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (June 18, 2008) – Fender Bass Amplification was born in 1951 with the creation of the Bassman® amplifier, specifically designed to support the Precision Bass®. These two inventions gave birth to a new kind of musician, the electric bassist. Classic Fender bass tone has always been a studio favorite, and can be found in every software amp-modeling product made for bass. Now Fender once again offers roadworthy packages complete with modern enhancements and the wallop required by modern professionals.
FENDER BASS AMPLIFICATION – PRO BASS AMPS:
2008’s bass lineup starts with a pair of powerful new amplifiers—the TB-1200 and TB-600 heads. The “TB” stands for “tube bass,” and Fender’s TB family provides just that—the thick, natural and balanced tube bass tone that sits perfectly in the mix onstage and in the studio. Both amps are based on Fender’s acclaimed TBP-1 tube bass preamp. The key to their great sound is a passive tone stack which delivers big, warm notes representing the instruments natural sound, the sonic backbone of classic Fender amps. Beyond the first stage are some key features designed to address the needs of modern players.
The TB-1200 is a hybrid head marrying a tube preamp to a massive 1200-watt power section for the perfect balance of warmth, attack and headroom; ideal for filling large venues. Its versatile tube overdrive creates everything from subtle bite to a full-on roar. Vari-Q™ is a smart semi-parametric EQ that provides precise tonal control. The effects loop has an attenuator, allowing it to also function as a boost control. All of these modern features are accessible using the four-button TBFS-4 footswitch (including a mute function and built-in tuner). The TB-600 head provides the same tube preamp married to a 600-watt solid-state power amp. "Room Balance" is a secret weapon, allowing players to adjust their overall stage tone from one room to the next without affecting the signal to the soundman. The TBFS-4 footswitch is included with the TB-1200 head; sold separately with the TB-600 head and combo.
Also new in 2008 is the TB-600C Combo; a TB-600 head rack mounted inside a solid 2x10 combo. Expertly designed for use as a high-powered professional combo, it’s expandable to support an additional 8-ohm cabinet for increased power and volume. Its “convertible” design allows the player to remove the TB-600 head for use with larger cabinets to fill bigger venues. Two Fender Special Design Eminence® cast-frame 10” drivers and a Foster compression driver horn provide warm, full-range tone with smooth highs.
The TB-600C combo delivers 400 watts to its internal 8-ohm load (600 watts when paired with any 8-ohm external cabinet). Its overdrive, Vari-Q™, effects loop and mute features are all accessible using an optional TBFS-4 footswitch.
FENDER BASS AMPLIFICATION – PRO BASS CABINETS:
Fender’s three new PRO series speaker cabinets can take all that great tube tone and raise the roof with it, if not shake the very earth. Biggest and baddest is the venerable 810 PRO Cabinet, now refined with four chambered and ported 2x10” sections armed with pulverizing Fender Special Design Eminence® cast-frame drivers. The high-frequency compression driver horn is easily adjusted using the attenuator on the back. At 2,000 watts program (1,000 watts continuous), the 810 PRO packs a knockout punch, and the rear slide rails and conveniently placed handles and wheels make moving and vehicle loading/unloading easy.
The 610 PRO Cabinet takes its cue from the 810 PRO model, delivering seismic sonic power in a package small enough to transport in most vehicles—perfect for bassists who find an 8x10” rig too large for medium-size venues. The 610 PRO has three chambered and ported sections, each loaded with two punchy 10” Fender Special Design Eminence® cast-frame drivers, and an adjustable high-frequency compression driver horn. At 1,600 watts program (800 watts continuous), the 610 PRO delivers stadium power and easy portability—rear slide rails and conveniently placed handles and wheels make moving and vehicle loading/unloading simple.
The 215 PRO Cabinet, with the same footprint as the 610 PRO, delivers the gigantic wallop of two 15” Fender Special Design Eminence® cast-frame drivers—the huge, round sound of old-school rock. The high-frequency compression driver horn adds brilliance and is easily adjusted using the attenuator on the back.
Rated at 1,600 watts program (800 watts continuous), the 215 PRO will move mountains without breaking your back—it too has the rear slide rails and conveniently placed handles and wheels that make moving and vehicle loading/unloading easy.
“These amps are the real deal,” said Jay Piccirillo, senior marketing manager of Fender Bass products “The Fender sound is ingrained in our DNA; it's what we hear when we hear bass. These new heads and cabinets deliver our tone for today’s bassist in search of big warmth in high-volume situations.”
