Squier introduces what is surely one of its most distinctive signature bass guitar models ever in the striking short-scale form of the Mikey Way Mustang Bass. Designed with the input of the nimble My Chemical Romance bassist, it takes the classic Mustang Bass and amps it through the roof with a dazzling large-flake Silver Sparkle finish with black racing stripes, a single seismic humbucking pickup with a black cover, and a black headstock with Way’s signature on the back.
Other features include a comfortable short scale (30”), basswood body, maple neck, 9.5”-radius rosewood Fingerboard with 19 medium jumbo frets and parchment dot inlays, three-ply pickguard (black-white-black), black numbered volume and tone controls knobs, strings-through-body bridge with four individually adjustable saddles and vintage-style chrome tuners.

I've played bass for a while, but this is my first fender bass and I must say it is a fantastic instrument! Great bass with great tone, design and playability. Good for beginners, amateurs and professional. Looks amazing! 10/10, would definitely recommend! thank you!

The Mikey Way bass is showy, but that's part of the appeal. The Mustang racing stripe is in the paint and won't rub off, and the color-matching headstock adds to the visual appeal. It's heavier than one would expect, and definitely heavier than the visually related Squier Bronco. But what makes this bass special is the pickup. The humbucker has some nice grit on the lower strings and is made for a classic bass sound. It's not strong on the high end, so if you want to play trebley-slappity-whappity sounds, get a different bass. The humbucker is a unique option on this bass, making it a good choice for low-end power and strong classic sounds. The neck is slender and easy to play, and the bass balances well. This bass lays down the groove and gives you a bit different sound than any P, J or Bronco. It's a nice tool to have available when you need something Fender style that's a little different.

this bass looks extremely cool and after owning it for a year now i can say that on a day to day basis of playing this it is very comfortable to use and the short scale neck makes fast fret work easy but and this is my main problem with the bass, the humbucker pickup is terrible at producing highs and the tone of the instument is very poor. It makes it sound dull and even sometimes the notes feel like the tone is rolled all the way off even with it turned up. i would recommend this bass providing that you consider swaping the pickups on it to try and get better highs and more tone out of the bass other than that its a good bass with an awsome paint job

This model is really cool to play, neck is easy and fast, the instrument is not too much heavy and the color is soo cool on stage. I'm not specialy a fan of my chemical romance (but I own The Black Parade that is a good album) but this bass just make her way to my hands by being really usable. The sound is a bit like a precision bass but with more low end, good to play with a pick. The only point I'm not fan was the original strings that are a bit too light, I put some 45-105 on it and it's way better! So if you're not afraid of low end (when you turn of the tone, get really fat) and you can assume the look, could be a good axe for you!

Feels good, sounds good, looks good. I'm a guitar player who's been a bassist at times and grabbed this for a side band. I tried a lot of basses before settling on this one. Excellent value.
