Celebrate 50 years of Fender’s most distinctive guitar model with the Special Edition Jaguar Thinline, which presents an elegant new take on the model. Most notably, it features a semi-hollow alder body with ash top and back, binding and f hole - the boldest design departure ever for a Jaguar.
Other specialized features include a bound modern “C” shaped maple neck with bone nut, classic Jaguar scale length (24"), 7.25"-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage-style frets, vintage-style single-coil Jaguar pickups with individual on/off slide switches, two-position tone switch, separate volume and tone controls for both circuits (rhythm and lead), and vintage-style floating tremolo with lock button.

The construction it is Top Quality, Made in japan,
very versatile guitar, perfect for:
clean tones, jazz, funk, punk, pop, rock, hard rock.
Beautiful rosewood color (lighter than usual)
If a normal rosewood color is like a coffee, this one has milk and sugar, Delicious!

This is an absolutely stunning guitar, and the chambered body adds even more versatility to the massive range of tones you can get from a jaguar. Only issue is that it comes with no indication at all of being a special edition - just a cardboard box. Nonetheless, a fantastic guitar which plays beautifully, and you can really work the feedback at high gains into heavier tones well. Is it worth the price of a special edition? Debatable.

I have owned this for about a year. The first thing I had to change was the bridge. I don't understand why Fender insists on using the same old, tired, doesn't work very well bridge on Jaguars. In my humble opinion, they would sell more of these if they redesigned the bridge (or license Mastery's design). With a Mastery bridge this guitar is much better. I also replaced the pickups. And am now in the process of adding better shielding and pots. Enclosed pots. For the price being asked, these are all areas that should have been upgraded. But, it is a beauty and plays very, very nicely....now. I love the thinline design of the body and the bound body and neck. It is very pretty.

This is my 1st Jaguar, stunning looks for sure. I just wish the headstock was painted too.
Block inlays will make it looks even better as it is a thinline.
The 1st time I played it I've noticed right away that the bridge's saddle is the weak link, and I think I'm not the only one...Fender should really change that asap for a product at this price range. Anyway once I've fixed it, it has become my number one guitar, I wish the japanese pickups would be hum cancelling when both are on. I have put a treble bleed
on both volume control, what a big difference now you can have a really nice swell.
So far so good, right now I'm looking for a noiseless pickup that would fit in as I play a lot of live gig and I can't stand the humming. Anyway I would say it is a great working guitar with little modification.

I got this as my third Jaguar, because I could get it second hand at a good price, and because of the special hollow body design. It looks absolutely stunning with the binding on the body and neck and the sound is definitely refreshing. The hollow body makes it prone to feedback, but in a controlled environment like a studio it will get you some very nice tones.

I've played this guitar and thought it was very cool. It looked and played awesome but the price was sort of too high($1500), not that it's not worth the price. Solid guitar (8.5/10)
I'VE OWNED THIS JAG FOR NEARLY A YEAR NOW AND AM STILL WONDERING IF I LOVE IT OR NOT.
PLUS POINTS: THE SEMI HOLLOW BODY, GREAT TREMOLO, NICE BLACK FINISH
MINUS POINTS: THE BRIDGE SADDLES CERTAINLY DO NOT HOLD GREATER GAUGE STRINGS THAN .009. THIS WAS CORRECTED BY FILING DOWN THE LEADS
THE STRINGS PROVIDED ARE MUCH TOO LIGHT SO I UPGRADED TO .012 CHANGING THE SOUND IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION.
THE PUPS COULD HAVE BEEN WAX TREATED
ACCESS TO THE TRUSS ROD IS TERRIBLE SO SETTING UP THE GUITAR IS A BIT OF A PAIN
NO CASE INCLUDED NOR ANY KIND OF MANUAL AND THAT FOR A SPECIAL EDITION
CONCLUSION: I BOUGHT THIS GUITAR IN GERMANY THROUGH THOMANN AND AM VERY CONTENT WITH THE OVERALL FINISH OF THIS JAPANESE MADE FENDER. ON THE SOUND PART SHE TENDS TO BE A BIT LIMITED IN USE BRIDGE PUP IS VERY SHARP BUT BRIDGE AND NECK TOGETHER ARE VERY USEABLE AS LONG AS ONE DOESN'T GO TO LOUD. THIS GUITAR HAS THE TENDENCY TO START FEEDBACKING VERY QUICKLY SO FOR ME SHE IS EXCLUDED FOR LIVE USAGE. THE NECK PICKUP GIVES NICE MELLOW TONES.
A BIT OVERPRICED IF YOU ASK ME, THE SOLID CASE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
