Purchased these strings because of the price and I fancied a change to flatwounds on my Alembic.
The E A D G strings sound really nice but the tapered B string had a terrible buzz/rattle at the taper end.
I thought it must be the saddle, so I fitted the string onto my Overwater - same result buzz/rattle at the taper!
Now My Peavey Cirrus is already fitted with a tapered B string so I tried it on that, same result buzz/rattle at the taper!
Got in touch with the shop and they sent me out a new B string, fitted it same result buzz/rattle at the taper!
Never in my 35-yrs of playing and setting up bass guitars have I had this trouble with any other make of string!
So these strings do not suit every bass!
Unless you want to buy new saddles and have it set up by a guitar tech so you can use them.
Which makes these a really expensive set of strings!
But I do use the 4 string flatwounds and they sound nice and warm and really smooth.
It's a shame they don't make a set that suits my 5 stringers..

These strings came stock on my Jaco Pastorius Fretless Jazz Bass. I was so impressed with how bright yet warm they were that I've kept using them as my string of choice for my Fretless Bass. The 9050M's give my Fretless that Old School sound, vibe & feel, they're also cheap. Making them a great bang for the buck. Give 'em a try.
