If you check out my FB page you will see me playing a 62 Jazz!!! It was my baby in the late 60's and 70's!!! had to sell it in 79!! sooo for decades i missed that bass UNTIL I found out about the new Fender 5!!!! well I will say thanks again Fender!!!! you did GREAT!!!!!! LOVE this bass! I used Showmans and bassmans in the day. That new 6-10 and super bassman is looking good!!!! Mikey

This bass plays like a P bass 4 string!
Maple neck, dot markers, skunk stripe - nice! - just like my old 1979 4 string P bass.
Like the satin finish & the maple neck is superb - a vintage tint.
Plays really well out of the box - wide range of tones, yet still a passive bass!
Great value for money - although the Squire Jazz V 70's modified is nearly as good for around £100 less.
Well pleased with it - only thing to dislike is the bridge - I personally prefer the traditionally styled high mass bridge.

I've played on jazz basses for years but I always thought something was missing somehow....
I switched to P bass and still the same, all good but something was missing...
Then Modern Player jazz bass came...and the void was filled...
Congratulations, rich sound and affordable price.... good combination

Since the 29th of march, I am the owner of this Jazz Bass and she is really amazing. Amazing because when you play it with your eyes closed, the neck really feels like if you are playing a four-string JB!
There is also an amazing choice in sound, thanks to the four-position rotary pickup selector. And you are still able to adjust with the volume and tone controls!
The body has the same size and the neck has the same length as the classic JB.
Only the pickguard looks a bit cheap and that really is a shame, because otherwise the bass is almost perfect for me.

I really love this bass. I played it at a local music shop. Its beautiful and plays amazing! You can get just about any sound you want out of this beast. I would love to buy one, but I just cant seem to get over the fact that its made in China... An American version of this bass would be mine in a heartbeat! (if it existed)
I was looking for a second passive bass and then I cracked the top ..
Sound really "jazz bass"!
This bass is truly impressive, with real skills slap of course!
One downside: a pity that we can not select the single coils 1 and 3 ..
So I highly recommend this bass ..

I was really impressed with the spit and polish on this mid-priced bass. The Satin finish is total eye candy and there is even subtle flaming in the fretboard. The hardware and electronics are solid and clean and it holds its tune as well as any instrument I've owned. The tonal range is truly staggering while maintaining classic Fender playability.
