More about American Vintage '58 Telecaster®

I was looking to upgrade from my Mexican 64 Tele and tried all the new models but in the end found the new Tele Neck's and Fret Wire tiring on my small hands so decided on a 50's model and fell in love with both the playability and Tone of my 58 White Blond. It was not my first Colour choice but I found that this was the best feel and tone of the 4-5 models I played so it is worth trying a few. I have since fallen in love with this Guitar, and use it for just about everything. My only gripe, and it not to be dismissed, Is that after 6 month where I have only Gigged live once and keep in the case when not using, I have now half a dozen paint chips, but am only aware of knocking it just once. Compare this to my 2nd Hand Mex, that I have had for 8 years, that has just one small paint crack by the Neck and has been gigged countless times and you get the point. This is why all the 50's Tele's look like a wreck and I am assuming Fender are using original Paint Jobs here, and so in next to no time you have something that looks original whether you like that or not. I still love the guitar but for something SO expensive it was a bit of a shock. Sometimes I get it out of the case and think Oh where did that one come from!! I do love the Guitar though and played through my Fender Delux 3 amp is just beautiful.

58 AVS TELE, aged white/blonde

Dutchy on October 30, 2013 (updated October 31, 2013)

I've owned this TELE for over a year. It's my main go to guitar. I play gigs every weekend with my band. Always get compliments on the TONE and looks of this guitar. Top quality guitar. D-neck shape is comfortable, in between a U-shape and C-shape neck. Again, great Tone. Set-up was perfect, out of the case. Love the case candy, included. I feel guilty, not playing my American Deluxe Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul standard Double-cut, but I just can't put this Tele down. I have bought, sold, traded many high end guitars, over 35+ years. This is the one guitar that I will keep, always !!! Go to your nearest music store and try one out, I'm sure you will be impressed.

This is my first Tele. I played quite a few before narrowing it down to the '52 and '58 vintages. Both are great guitars. The less chunky neck on the '58 was the deciding factor. The '58 plays like a dream. The craftsmanship is superb. The tone is amazing. I would highly recommend this guitar.

I play in an Aggressive progressive band, this tele provides the warm, tight lead sound i love, with a very responsive tone control. being a vintage model, its amazing the versatility it offers, on both clean, crunch and lead channels. from its it vintage tuners to its string through Ash body, this guitar is worth every penny.

Love this guitar to bits

I've checked out a few of these guitars at Guitar Center - for the price, I expect the details to be spot on. I was not impressed by the three piece ash body, although it was fairly lightwieght which most of the vintage 57's and 58's tend to be. The headstock decal was misaligned relative to the originals - seems to be straight in line like the american standard decals. The sound was good enough for my ears based on what I know about the vintage sound (played a few at Chicago Music Exchange). For the money, I'd like to see a one or two piece ash body, and more attention to detail.

Bought second-hand from a friend, but was in 'as new' condition. I play a lot of 50s & 60s covers and find the Tele is ideal for that classic 'twang' of the era. I use it mainly for rhythm so haven't explored all its capabilities, but it does everything as well as I need it to. Cannot fault it, superb guitar!
