Stick with a CD60

Well I started off with my first acoustic, the Fender CD60, which was incredibly well priced and had monstrous tone. Also you didn't have to be careful with it, you could knock it around and it'd be fine. I ended up selling the CD60 in exchange for the slightly more expensive "ce" version., to avoid having to buy preamps and piezo pickups and whatnot myself. Now whilst this unplugged guitar is still absolutely brilliant, (especially with the inclusion of the cutaway which I believe should be standard on the CD60 model too), within a few months of owning it the piezo pickup had come loose despite extensively more care being taken with it. This caused horrible string buzz on the G string and I had to get it repaired, the local luthier charging me around £40 for the work. Personally I believe the best solution is to buy a standard cd60 and if possible, install your own electronics and microphones, however this guitar is still beautiful and works fine now post repair.

Speaking of value for money...

After borrowing some acoustic guitars to start playing guitar, I decided to buy my first guitar. The CD60-CE looks absolutely great, but that isn't the only thing that matters. The cutaway is looks great and is functional as well. The mahogany is well furnished, nice and shiny.

Well, enough about the looks. As I said, I borrowed some other guitars to play guitar until I bought my own. What a surprise when I started playing the CD60-CE! The .012-strings sound very nice and are easy to play. Thinner strings (e.g. .010) could be fitted for more flexibility, but I think that makes the guitar sound too shrill.
The Fishman pickup works fine, although the built-in tuner is not very precise.

The CD60-CE is a great guitar with a great value for money!
