Fender Select Stratocaster® HSS

Modelo : 0170314

Fantastic guitar

I just got this guitar a couple of days ago and WOW is all I can say. The flame maple top and the finish are beautiful. The inlaid rosewood fretboard is something I have never had on a guitar before. As soon as a I gripped the neck on a test drive at the store I liked it. It's a full C 50's neck style and it fits perfectly in my hand. Having the recessed fretboard with the maple neck serving as a sort of binding is a very smooth feel. The rolled edges are actually the maple neck. Not the rosewood fretboard. This gives the neck a unique feel when you grip it. I like the compound radius. I have a 2004 deluxe tele maple neck that also has the 9.5 to 14 compound radius and I think it has been replaced as number 1. This new beauty is making it's debut at rehearsal next week so I really can't fully evaluate the pickups until I crank it up with the band. Sometimes you acquire guitars to go in your collection or to play a specific style or what have you. Then there are guitars you come across and they instantly become the new number 1 absolute go to guitar replacing the previous titleholder. This my friend is one of those guitars.

I have found MY tone!!

I have always loved single coil guitars. I recently bought a LP Standard and found that the playability for me just didn't work like Fenders.

I loved the bridge humbucker, but not the neck, and i needed my cluck and chime there.
When i took it back to Guitar Center this beauty caught my eye. I love the tone woods and finish. The neck is amazing, and so playable. And with the HSS config, buddy this thing will get dirty too! As a church musician moving across many genres of music in any given set, this guitar can cover them all. I definately wont be taking this one back!

Ultimate Rock Immortal HSS

(5.0)
DonnyRock on April 9, 2013 (updated April 9, 2013)

I initially saw this guitar on the Fender website and was intrigued by the new Fender Rosewood embedded fingerboard in a maple neck. I finally got a call from my local Guitar Center and got the opportunity to be the first to have one from this store. I immediately went down and had to try it out. I was amazed by the unique neck and fingerboard and how easy it was to play. The action was amazing and the sound was super sweet. The humbucker pickup had a smooth crunch that helped me immediately make the decision to buy it. The finish was beautiful, the neck amazing, the sound the best yet from any Fender I have played. Everyone around me wanted to try the guitar but I immediately swooped it up and didn't want anyone else to get it. This guitar is the most exciting one I have ever owned and I can't wait to get on stage with my Rock Immortal friends to make it scream!

SWEET SMOOTH LADY

(5.0)
Mike on February 21, 2013 (updated February 21, 2013)
Amateur Blues R&B Gospel Rock Classic Rock Pop Rock Country

I played a Strat back in the 60s and had fun in a small 3 man band playing classic rock-n-roll. When I went into the service and got out of music for a while, my heart was just not in it anymore. When I came back to music later, it was with an acoustical guitar. Lately I have had the bug to play an electric guitar again. So I took the plunge with this beautiful lady! I am in awe of this Lady....she has all the inner & out beauty, sleek grace and mellow tone as well as a raunchy guttural snarl of a fine tuned Formula-1 at the Indy 500! The wood front & back is flawless with a sleek luster finish. The maple birdseye neck with rosewood fret board is a beauty. The neck fills your hand and is smooth with the strings that melt like butter to the touch. I may have to go to heavier gauge strings until I soften my acoustical neck (death) grip. The ability to play all high, mid-range and low ranges of music voices with such quality, clarity as well as hold a note and switching from single coils to humbucker drives my crazy! When I transport this vibe through my new Limited Super Sonic 22, I am in heaven. When I shoot them through my Mustang II with all the warped preset modes, I can't help but think of my first '65 Corvette Stingray Roadster! You couldn't wipe the smile off my face with a baseball bat! I feel like a kid again! Thank you FENDER! I salute all your artists & craftsmen!

Fender Select Strat HSS Guitar

(5.0)

Amateur Gospel Rock

I got this guitar in November 2012. Wow what a guitar! I received a certificate with the guitar indicating it was one of the first 100 made. The humbuckers sound so good! These, with the two single-coil pickups provide such an awesome array of tones which enables me to be very creative! The fit and finish of this Strat is second to none. The combination of the neck being so smooth and the rosewood fretboard allow my fingers to glide
up and down the neck. This guitar is truly a dream to play! You ask, would I purchase this guitar again ? YES! I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for an excellent playing, excellent built, and excellent sounding electric guitar!
