I've had mine for about 9 months and it has become my main guitar. The large neck may throw some players but after a while you will realize that fat necks are easier in the hands if you play a lot and give you a fatter overall tone. The 12 inch radius makes for easy bending without being too modern feeling. The comfort cuts feel good against your body and on your forearm....you get the comfort of a Strat with the thump of a telecaster.
I did make a mod to mine and replaced the Twang King with a DiMarzio Area T. There is a review on this page that incorrectly states that the stock neck pickup is hum cancelling....the Twang King is not a hum cancelling pickup. The Chopper bridge pickup has a lot in common with a DiMarzio PAF Pro but has some twang in the mix which makes for a very versatile pickup. The series-parallel switch is a nice touch, though I usually leave it in series.
This is my favourite telecaster in Fenders line at the moment.

I've had my RK telecaster for around 4 years now and it's literally never left my side. It's my main guitar. Just a very comfortable guitar (if you like really fat necks) and the tone of the thing is just amazing. Great sustain, it can do everything from funk to jazz to blues to metal. The only thing that I would change is for Fender to make it in more colors. I love the Brown Sunburst but Fender Japan used to make it in Sea Foam Green which was one of my favorites. Richie has one in white which is absolutely stunning and they recently did one in black with no pick guard. If they brought any of these back I'd definitely buy another one.
Once you play this guitar you won't want to play anything else!
This is my second telecaster. I already have a telebration mahogany in a SH configuration and a stratocaster deluxe in SSS. Therefore my review is based on the experience I have with these two guitars.
So, being a huge R.K. fan, I bought this special tele as soon as it was available in Europe.
I observed that they put a lot of care in this guitar (made in Japan) and therefore I would consider the finishing perfect or "deluxe like". Abalone inlays, perfect paint-job, golden mechanics.. everything looks just great! The mechanics are very good, it stays in tune for a long time.
The neck is fat - the fattest I ever played, it feels really great but for those who play rather thin necks - try it first.
The sound is really awesome - due to the combination of DiMarzio pickups and serial/parallel switch (second knob is not a tone knob) you can achieve the right tone for more or less every style (even metal).
One single negative point: it hums more than I expected (at least more than the telebration and the strat), especially on the neck pickup ?!? (which is a mini-humbucker). And no, it is not a ground failure, I've checked/measured it, everything is in place and running.
Another observation - I wouldn't consider a drawback - the guitar comes with (just) a gig bag. It is in my opinion weird for this price range, but whatever.
