Bought it in Barcelona last January. Olympic White. I took it out of the box and it had instantly a great classic telecaster tone! I'm very happy with it :) And what a wide set of tones coming out of this guitar!

I've been curious about the telecaster for a while, heard some guys playing the blues on those and was amazed by the "Attack" of the tone on the Telecaster. So in 2010 the American Special came out and of course with the lower price tag on that guitar I went directly to the shop and got one. Out of the rack that guitar offers everything I could expect and MORE from a telecaster.. I have to admit I didn't know you could get that much aggressivity out of that kind of guitar. Of course you got to know how to set your amp but in a middle of a band that play from Blues to punk she can hold her place no problem, a very distinct tone that slice trough any loud Drum and bass. You need a tone that got "ATTACK" and a guitar that will hold her tune even if you are hitting her hard she's for you!!

I have a few other guitars by Epiphone and Jackson. I love all of them, but the clear, crisp sound and playability has made my Tele American Special the go-to guitar. I love this guitar.

Lets keep this review simple like a good tele. This model in Blonde nails it for me. One: it looks good. Two: it plays so well. I love the big frets - loads of room for finger picking and bending. It sounds great. All the classic sounds and more are there. Very well put together. Excellent quality. A USA model at a very affordable price. My USA 'blackface' quest is done. A keeper.

I bought this beauty in blonde color a few weeks ago, and can't get my hands off it- It's super easy to play, the sound is amazing at just every genre you play, and although the features are basic, they are more than anybody needs. The jumbo frets make it real easy to bend, the pickups are excellent, and the tone can refer to anything- from classical and country through blues, jazz, punk and rock to metal and all the way back. This amazing instrument is worth every cent. And I didn't even brought it to setup yet!

One of the best and most well built guitars I´ve ever bought. My choice was between the American Special, the American Standard and the American Deluxe. The Special was the winner without a question! Playability is outstanding, and tone is superb. The tone control on this guitar really works, and selecting the neck pickup and roll off the highs with the tone control makes it really suitable for jazz playing. Rock, jazz, blues.. whatever, this guitar rocks. And Fender - are you really sure about the price? I would expect this guitar to cost just as much as the Standard Tele.

I've owned many Telecasters, from high to low end and I have to admit the American Special Series is the best value and has the best tones in my opinion. I am far from pro, but have been playing for 35+ years...The balance and tonal capabilities of the Texas Specials, combined with the 9.5" neck radius and weight balance offer up an array of tones, and also can handle the push of a distortion pedal without being muddy, unlike the vintage style pickups. I would recommend this guitar if you are looking for a well built, solid and dependable Telecaster.

I am 62 years old. I've been playing guitar-bass since I was 15. I have had many guitars. Ric's, Heritage's, Gibsons, Fenders, (I've had 12 Fenders that I can remember, fender strats, basses, teles) and this is one of the best guitars I've owned. This is the 6th Tele I've owned and I gotta say it's one of the nicest I've played. The last one I had was a cherry sunburst Deluxe and I liked the looks of it but not the sound. I had a blonde one that lives in France now and a black one that's in the UK. In 2006 I bought many guitars to sell.... This one is a keeper. It's a 2010 White/Black with Texas pickups on it. This one will not be sold. I just want to tell you Fender Boys.. Thanks!!!!

This guitar has got to be one of the greatest guitars I've ever played. It can cover such a wide range of tones, especially considering how simple it's setup is. In addition to this, it is really a looker, like it can look good on anyone. Plus its so durrable, like I've banged it so many times and the worst I've ever done is one knick on the body that you can hardly see anyway. And then when pluged into a tube amp like a Pro Junior, the tone sounds so amazing. I would honestly reccomend this guitar to anyone.

Great guitar. Lovely finish, great tone which sometimes needs a bit of "fattening up". Wide neck for those with sausage fingers.
It is a quality item and can be used from anything to Home Practice, Open Mics, and gigging at any level. Get an Amp that will help fatten the sound if you play Rock.
I bought mine new but they are also great value second-hand.
This is one of your entry points into American built Telecasters and is good value, plays well, feels comfortable and looks great. I also think these may be classics of the future and will hold their value well.
I bought this Tele used at a Pawn Shop. What a great find. This Tele is well worth the money. It's American and comes with a gig bag to help keep the cost down. The Bridge is 3 brass saddles which are great for the old Spank sound. The Texas Special PU's sound wonderful. I got the blond with a maple neck. The blond finish looks a bit yellowed so I replaced the black guard with a white one. My Tele now looks like one about 40 years old. What a great Guitar!

Love this guitar. Great features including jumbo frets, greasebucket circuit and beautiful nitro finish. The Texas special pickups sound amazing. Fender pretty much nailed it with this guitar! Sreet price is well under a thousand dollars which I think makes it an amazing value. All in all a classic Tele that plays and sounds as good as it looks.
