New Tone Woods

Fender Acoustic Custom Shop tone woods have been personally selected by our esteemed, experienced craftsmen for generations.

Englemann Spruce

This lightweight, light-colored wood features strong overtones and a broad midrange that becomes more evident with play.

Sitka Spruce

A powerful-sounding tone wood, Sitka is durable yet defined, with distinct wood grain and lasting longevity that makes it one of the most widely used acoustic top materials.

Koa

Don’t be fooled be the initially bright overtones of this dense hardwood. With the balance of mahogany and the attack of maple, koa gradually warms as it performs.

Walnut

The tone of this earthy, beautiful hardwood tends to be more complex than koa but falls between the booming low-end of rosewood and the harmonic balance of mahogany.

Flame Maple

Maple’s distinct bite and audible top end are taken to the next level with this new visually striking Custom Shop aesthetic.

Mahogany

Known for its prominent midrange and balanced tone, mahogany is a wood well suited to a broad range of genres and easily adapts to any performer’s playing style.
