The playability of this guitar is excellent. The neck ist super fast for razor cutting shredding and body melting riffing. The look of this guitar is awesome like the Jim Root Telecaster. The Jim Root Stratocaster is a perfect guitar for Hardcore/Metalcore Bands because it has a punkish look and a face-melting tone.

I purchased a black on black in October of 2012. The action was 5/16" high. It had gaps on the top and bottom of body where the neck bolts on 1/16" wide. The intonation was also out to lunch. I set up the guitar and played it for a couple of days, and then the neck went out to lunch so then I adjusted it. All in all I lost interest after a week. I put it in the case and forgot about it. I took it back at Christmas in 2012 and got my money back. I ended up getting the Jim Root Telecaster that is phenomenal (10/5). A friend of mine recently purchased and brought his Jim Root Strat into work for me to see. It was just like my Telecaster, flawless! His is a white on maple. I think my experience was a total fluke, but exhausting none the less. I'm rating my Jim Root Strat at a 2/5. Reviewing my friend's Jim Root Strat it would be a 5/5. My experience taught me that even though the music store brought my guitar in for me I shouldn't have felt obligated to take it. Buyer beware is the lesson today. I would actually recommend this guitar. I want the maple on white I think.
