I recently purchased a 3-color burst Cabronita after hearing many online. The tone was exactly what i was looking for, a little dirty and vintage sounding. Quality control - The burst finish is beautiful. Finish on fret ends is thick in some places and missing in others, does not affect playability. Pick ups and switch all work perfect. Now the bridge has got to go. others have noted the E and B strings do not line up over the pick up poles, I'm not concerned as the guitar still sounds great. But what I did find is the lower quality bridge saddles are too wide for the space given thus they cannot slide freely past each other to do a proper string intonation. Also some of the height adjustment screws on the saddles buzz when playing and like to vibrate out of position. Staying in tune is also a challenge. All in All a great sounding guitar but needs better hardware for this price. I have ordered a new aftermarket bridge and factory Fender locking tuners, this should cure the tuning issues.

I played the Squier version in store, an it's an awesome guitar for 3 bills. Ordered the fender purely for the surf green color. 1st one arrived, played great, great neck, etc., but had cracks in the green finish around the neck pickup and various other blemishes so I returned it. 2nd one arrived, sounds great, tuned/intonated no problem, beautiful. The body finish is a 8/10, some minor specs. The neck is a nice thick C profile (v-ish) with a light gloss finish on the backside (not the faster satin, will modify with light grade sandpaper). Played Back in Bblack to check for the high e string slipping of the fretboard, didn't have a problem. Others have noted that the E strings do not align over the pickups, but the tone is not affected in anyway). The pickguard on this one is off center on the horn by 1mm... I'm nitpicking (after looking at other product photos, seems normal). The electronics seem solid to this point and the pickups are really unique in an excellent way. I'm leaving this guitar stock. This is a beautiful design, with very minor imperfections. If you are looking for a Tele with a cool vibe, this is a great choice. The Surf Green is killer! The Squier quality control was better than this MIM, but you can only get black.

I purchased this item to account for poor electrical at venues and allow me to keep that Tele tone. It did not disappoint! I did make some minor changes to hardware string savers (graph tech saddles) string tree and Fender logo neck plate (it's a little thicker than original) adding sustain..... It plays fantastic! I have no complaints with this beauty!
I have another single coil Tele, but this one definitely rocks!!!

Pros: Looks & sounds great.
Cons: Terrible bridge hardware & string spacing.
I own a 2012 White/Blonde Ash Cabronita. I spotted this guitar across the room in a local shop, and it was like a cheesy scene from a movie where two love interests lock eyes and are drawn together. I plugged it into a Hot Rod Deluxe in the shop's amp room and found that the sound lived up to the appearance. It was badly in need of a setup, but that is the case with most guitars you grab off the wall in most shops so I paid no mind to this as I asked the clerk to fetch me a hard case for my pending purchase.
Once I put on a fresh set of strings, set the action the way I like it and adjusted the neck relief to spec, the guitar played brilliantly and sounded just as good—as long as I stayed within the first 5 frets. The guitar proved impossible to intonate, even removing the springs from the bridge to allow me to move the saddle back further, any notes played beyond the 5th fret got progressively sharper. I also noticed that the string's alignment with the neck and pickups was off slightly, not enough for the sound to be affected, but enough for the high e string to slide off the edge of the fret board very easily.
I don't know if the cause of my issues are production related, or if the engineers at Fender should have spent more time in the lab with this one before going to production, but from what I read there are many others out there that share the same issues as I do. If you are in the market for one, please go to several shops and try out as many different ones as possible paying close attention to the bridge and the guitars intonation before purchasing.

My Fender Cabronita is white blonde, which is very sexy, and has an ash body. I find ash to be a particularly resonant wood (I also have a Baja with an ash body) which translate in superior sustain. It also means a relatively heavy instrument.
The finish was absolutely perfect, spotless.
The action was too high for my liking, and I lowered it by adjusting the saddles, just above the limit of fret buzz. It is very sweet to play now.
The neck is so called modern-C which is pretty thick in my hand, but I got used to it quickly. Neck radius is only 9.5” which makes barre chords easier, but bending slightly more difficult. Again, after a little of practice, one gets quickly used to it. The lower neck radius adds to the neck fullness – which is also, in my opinion, a contributor to the high sustain.
The glossy fretboard paint may be not friendly of those with sweaty hands – luckily I am not one.
The sound is true Tele, twangy, yet powerful and rich due to the humbuckers. I run it through a Bugera valve amp with a valve Beringher distortion unit, and I get the classic rock sound I am after. I have a Gretsch Jet Pro with Filter’tron pickups and I can say these Fideli’tron pickups are very similar but not exactly the same, as they deliver the trademark twang. (I play Paranoid by B Sabbath and get the correct sound.)
There is a remarkable difference in sound between the bridge and the neck pickup. I use almost constantly the bridge, but the neck gives very warm and full tones that would probably satisfy other players.
Tuners are OK, and have a relatively high ratio. The guitar stays in tune quite well.
The guitar came with a 9-42 string set, which is fine to me. I will replace them with coated strings after some use, as a matter of personal preference.
I like the simplicity of the electronics – I do not need a tone control.

I loved my strat but when I heard this I had to have it. I was not a huge fan of Teles but when I heard recording of Cabronitas it turned my head because it had what I felt they lacked for me. The sounds and playability are fantastic. I reach for this one every time. I do not miss a tone knob at all. Changes in tone come from pick or finger attack and changes on my amp. It has a huge range with everything sounding good.
One criticism, the nut was cut horribly on this instrument so that every fretted note was sharp when the open strings were tuned properly. It could not be intonated at all - even though I have a light touch. I had to replace it with a new tusq precut nut and the problem was solved. I found this extremely disappointing even while I was falling in love with the sound, playability, and feel of this instrument. The neck is extremely comfortable and playable. The strings are very close to the edges given the bridge chosen by fender, but I don't have a problem with it. If you vibrato both directions side to side on the E and e it will fall off the edge.

Tried this little beauty out through a Super Champ X2 and basically just fell in love. I miss having a tone control for those wah-like swells but it's a small matter. The neck is well made; the bone nut is a nice touch. The Fideli'Trons kick ass! So much tone, so variable! I ran her through my modelling amp at home and I can say you can play just about anything with these pups. All this for 6 bills! You won't go wrong if you buy one.
