Upon receipt this bass required quite a bit of setup. the action was very high and got even worse after i tuned it. However a few truss rod adjustments etc (you guys know the drill lol) what a GREAT playing/sounding guitar! You can adjust this bass to fit any sound, the neck feels awesome, the frets are smooth....the strings it came with are ok at best (kinda ringy clangy cheap old roundwounds) I prefer flats so these strings never stood a chance with me so maybe im not being fair even mentioning them, but i have played better roundwounds. :-)
I also own a Squier vm jazz, a Squier affinity p bass, and an Epiphone thunderbird pro iv. I love all 4 of them for various reasons, but the jag really is my "go to" bass. Its so easy to play its light, its versatile and it just reeks of quality worth about 3 times the $199 i paid for it BRAND NEW! at a .com. Getting to the point...Pull the trigger on this bad little guy right now before the guys at fender sober up and realize this bad boy can pull in a lot more than they are asking and act accordingly.

as soon as I saw it with that massive humbucker, I knew I had to have it. A massive step up in every way from my P bass copy, this has a great EQ, and a beautiful neck, exactly everything that I want from a bass. Good job guys

I got this bass at a local guitar center, and boy am I glad that I picked this baby up. This was my first bass guitar (I had just transitioned from the guitar) and I was stoked to start playing right away. I really can't compare this to other basses; since this is the only one I have played, but I can tell you this isn't an ordinary entry-level bass. The neck is amazing... It's so easy for me to slide my hand up and down the neck. Also, the body is ultra-slim and light so it's easy to travel with this amazing instrument.
Some songs call for a different sound.I already had 2 Squier basses (A VM Jazz 70s and Jaguar P/J) and was wanting to get a Stingray type (louder humbucker pickup) bass. This Vintage Modified Jaguar® Bass Special HB filled the need perfecty and still feels and plays just like my other Fender/Squier basses. #WinWin

I have been playing bass guitar in rock and pop groups here in Australia, part time, for nearly 50 years. I have a collection of over 20 bass guitars which include Fender, Burns, Ernie Ball, Yamaha, Dame, Ibanez, Kramer & a smattering of Korean basses. My Fenders include an American Deluxe Jazz, a Frank Bello custom shop, and a Squier Precision Bass. I have a red Jaguar E Type (XKE) and have always wanted a Jaguar Bass to go with it. When I saw this new model Squier Jaguar in Candy Apple Red metallic, featuring a Stingray style single hum-bucker, brand new in the USA for less than $200, I took the plunge and ordered one from an on-line music store in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. What a brilliant bass! Setup was nearly spot on when landed. I have gigged my Ernie Ball Stingray for several years now, but this new Jaguar creature is just phenomenal. Lovely top quality finish (it is crafted in Indonesia). Incredible vintage punch and bottom end growl, but its on board 3 band active electronics can produce clean, clear top end for slap or cut through when needed. It is almost as good in quality and finish as any other Fender I have played. I am now taking my Squier Jaguar everywhere with me. It is light and not fatiguing for 4 hour stands and versatile enough to suit all of the music styles my band performs (from hard rock to pop/folk to Latin American styles). I am stoked; and have just bought a Fender Modern Player Chocolate-burst Jaguar guitar to go with it.

This was really a great bass. It is my first bass and you don't really know how good of a deal you are getting. From the time of purchase, there is no fret buzz, active pick-ups, there is virtually nothing wrong with this bass. If you are into Fender basses, this one is a need! i have tryed my fair share of Fender basses, but this one takes the cake. Your fingers will just glide over the fret board. Amazing!
