The left-handed American Standard Stratocaster® guitar is the same great best-selling, go-to model it has always been, and now it’s upgraded with aged plastic parts and full-sounding Fender Custom Shop Fat ’50s pickups. The latest iteration of our time-honored classic, it is the very essence of Strat tone and remains a beauty to see, hear and feel.

I have always wanted one of these Fender Strats. Had to wait fifty years to purchase one. Mine is 3 tone sunburst and I think it should be parked next to Andy Warhol's painting, this is a beautiful work of art. The way I can look through the clear to the grain of the wood, just stunning. Besides this guitar doing what it was made to do, it is simply one of the very best there was, and still are. If I could afford another and another I sure would.

I've been a Stratocaster owner and player for over 30 years! According to the serial number, this guitar is a year 2013 model. The setup of this guitar was good out of the box, even though I still performed my own set up to meet my comfort level of playing.
I received the Olympic White model (left handed) with the maple fret board model. I happen to own a few USA Fender Stratocasters dating from 1975 through 2013 including this recent acquisition and some of the specs have changed over the years within the USA Standard models. What stands out on this current generation of Stratocasters is the Custom Shop Fat 50 pickups. The Fat 50’s are very good pickups. Due to the fact that I play multiple styles of music from Jazz, Blues, Funk, Rock and R&B, the Fat 50 pickups have good presence in the mid and high tonal ranges, which allows me to stay on the top of the mix for solos and allows good presence and resolution for rhythm guitar playing while playing a supportive role in the band when I need to stay within the mix. Being that I love to play jazz, I found that the Custom Shop Fat 50 pickups give decent roll off of the highs with the tone select switch in the neck position to give me the warmer jazz tones that I like. I would prefer even a greater degree of roll off of the highs as these pickups have quite a bit of brightness, particularly with the maple fret board, but the tone is good enough for me to get the job done.
The Pro Series hard shell case that comes with the guitar, is not as good of quality as the Fender cases that were made in the 60's 70's 80's or 90's, but I do like the fact that case is a tradition style Fender case in comparison to the over sized SKB that was included in the previous USA Standard model.
Overall, this is a great guitar and I prefer the overall sound of the Fat 50 pickups in comparison to the standard pickups in the previous Standard model that date around the years 2005 through 2010. Again....I love it! Great guitar!
I've owned other Strats, but I keep coming back to the American Standards. I own two, a 2008 and a 2011, albeit with different pickups. But I love the American Standard pickups of the 2008-2011 models, though the Fat50s are supposed to be excellent. My Strats came set up out of the box, instantly playable. I have a sunburst and a blizzard pearl Strats. The wood grain on the sunburst is beautiful. The American Standard Stratocaster is a great guitar. I love the American Standard Fender models so much, I've bought an AmStd Jazz Bass and an AmStd Tele.

I bought one American Standard Left-handed Strat far in summer 2008, it's just the ultimate, definitive, immortal prototype of the electric guitar. She will be my travel buddy forever, no doubt about that.

I have and had a lot of Stratocasters. Some feel and play better than others. 6 years ago I gave away my favorite Strat ever. It was a 1998 "1969 Reverse Neck American Series". I am right handed and I have been searching for that fit, feeling and sound with several models. I just traded in my 2011 right handed American rosewood and got a 2012-13 Lefty American maple and had the nut changed. WOW! I got that loving feeling again. The quality on this model has improved quite a bit. And the Fat 50's Custom Shop pickups are far better than I thought they would be. This is one hell of a guitar !!!

This truly is the standard of the solid body electrics. Virtually everyone who plays electric has at least one Strat in their collection, I have 4 and the American-made is the best of the lot. Nothing else I own comes close.
