The Vintage Modified Precision Bass® TB pumps out oceans of '70s-era Telecaster® Bass. Cool and seismic low end thanks to that big ol' Fender®-designed humbucking pickup right there at the neck. To say nothing of its classic string-through, dual brass-saddle bridge and glorious sunburst-over-ash-veneer finish ...

Bought one as a back-up 4 years ago and still have it whilst others have come and gone... this is no second fiddle... a beast of a bottom feeder, looks and plays like a dream! Astonishing value for money...

I've had this bass for a few days now and bought it because I've played short scale basses for years now and wanted to go full scale. if you like lots of low end and not much high end this is the bass for you. The big humbucker is extremely loud and packed with bassy bottom end tones! another quality bass from the company I don't dare to step away from!
I'm in love with how this instrument looks.
The finish on this bass is amazing, it is incredibly beautiful.
I also find it very comfortable to play; the neck is smooth and feels great in my hands.
The hardware is fine but may need an upgrade in the future.
It does sound great too, a dark tone that I personally enjoy a lot. Not very versatile though.
With its very small flaws, I can say this bass is amazing for the money. Falling in love with it each time I play it.

I recently bought one of these in January 2013. In the 5 months I've owned it, it's become my main bass.
I had a 1974 Telecaster Bass in the mid 90's and always regretted selling it. I wanted that thick, meaty tone back. Now I have it, and I've got it on an instrument with a neck a hundred times more comfortable to play than that old '70's Fender.
With a bit of EQ it's possible to take this 1-trick pony from fat Country and Reggae thump straight to the thick, heavy rock tones I needed. The Modern-C neck is incredibly easy to play and the fit & finish is as good as on any Squier. It's not as heavy as my 74 by a long shot. I wish it had the slab body that the originals had, but the contours are just as comfortable as a Precision Bass.
Once this pickup mellows with a little age, it's going to sound JUST like that '74 I had 20 years ago. Thank you Fender for making this reissue.

This instrument is absolutely ideal for playing reggae, but it has only one good tone. Not too bright, not too characteristic.
