My wife bought this Online for a great sale price [199.00 + free shipping] from Guitar Center (who says they only ship boxed units as received from the manufacturer).
Out of the box it was awesome! Fiesta Red was a bit more orange to my pleasant surprise, and it was flawless.
The features were exactly what I wanted; simple and direct with 3-way selection, and one tone and one volume. The neck was smoth and I did not notice the shorter scale much (I knew wjhat I signed up for lol) The bridge was ok, but good for price point.
Then it went downhill. After minor tuning I plugged into my Fender Frontman 212 combo. The neck pickup seemed to only output 70% but the tones were good and the knobs functioned well; however the bridge pickup did not put out at all....nothing, nada, nyet. Very disappointing.
I took into my local GC the next day to fix; I really wanted this guitar! However I played a Fender Modern Player Jag with P90's and for $70 more I walked out with that.
I wasn't expecting alot for this price, but I did expect it to operate. Probably a fluke...may have happened at some point in shipping - unit was packaged immaculately and solid...but I had to rate it on the actual unit recieved and it was not good.

This guitar is great for the money. At first I thought the pickups were authentic duncans, but I guess I misread the description as it is actually "duncan designed" pickups, but in any case they are still great sounding pickups. I was hoping that the HH model had a tremolo system, but it only has the set bridge and the strings rest upon it as opposed to a strat where the strings go through the body. Never had a jaguar before so it was quite odd to have a fender (or squier) that didn't have a tremolo. The playability is good if you have small hands because I think the neck is smaller than the regular scale. I have the fiesta red with tortoise shell pickup...i think that's one of the reasons why I bought it because of it's great looks and color. I bought the guitar along with a small practice amp (line 6 micro spider) and it sounds pretty good. I am wondering what it sounds like through a big rig. The harmonics are not bad sounding, but not as bright as a regular scaled neck. The pots are pretty damn good for a 200 dollar guitar. So if you're in the market for a great sounding Jaguar, but don't want to pay full price and don't mind the "squier" logo on the headstock, then this guitar is for you.

I've always wanted a jaguar ever since I started playing guitar and seeing Kurt Cobain use one. I finally got one. I love the shape and sound. When I got this I really didn't know much of a difference between pickups and settings and stuff. I would love to get a classic jag. This guitar is perfect for grunge, punk, garage, and I can even get some metal in there. It definitely adds something new to the jag family. Sonic youth new. Yeah I would love the floating bridge, but this just makes a cool different sound. Only thing I hate is stringing it, the pegs are so hard to get the string in and right. I have the fiesta red. I love fenders colors.

This guitar sounds beyond amazing. The pickups alone are outstanding. The body has got a great feel, good hardware, and a great finish. The neck and tuners are pretty awesome too. I've been playing for a long time, and I have ever played a better Squier guitar. It feels just as good as my '78 mustang, which seems crazy to say, because I paid 3 times as much for the mustang.

This abnormal version of a jaguar makes it interesting to use very minimal, mainly due to its fixed bridge, the original is not a great invention and inefficient. Fairly light, very good quality, maybe I would have preferred a 7" radius neck, the pickups are good without excel (all in all are design), very good with the 011 gauges, the bending is good, I recommend it, very good for the quality/price ratio
