Well the LH Squier Affinity Tele I ordered finally arrived last Friday! First impressions are usually the best and mine are that this guitar is a steal at the price. The Butterscotch blond color is nice, wood is ok (3 piece body), decently grain matched. The finish on the body is gloriously shiny and I did not find any flaws on that. Neck is very nice, just fine for my hands. The neck alignment on mine was perfect OOB (out of the box) as was the string setup. No buzzing frets, no binding on the nut, the guitar does not go out of tune through hard playing. The neck almost seems like it was made for a way more expensive guitar IMHO. The tuners feel ok, smooth and positive, no binding noticed. Tone and volume control pots feel nice and firm, jack is snug and the pickup switch has a positive feel in all positions. Tone from the bridge pickup is awesome, neck pickup well not quite so much. Truthfully though I just heard a recording recently made of a '50’s Fender Broadcaster neck pickup and it's not that far off. However in time it will have to go. Grinder tool marks under the chrome show through on the bridge and the controls plate. There are some random orbital sander marks under the urethane on the body (you have to look at an angle, you cannot see them straight on) and the body has one spot in the wood (look by the control plate in the pic) but I think it adds some character. Not bad at all for a mass produced guitar. So I really think I got a good 'un and she's a keeper! If you can only get one guitar for the money this one is worth it.
