The clean channel is all Fender, sparkly and full of 'what ya need', so good in fact I rarely used the Burn channel starting out. Yes, its that good!.. Im using a Tele as my No. 1. and I really couldn't be happier with the amps handling of the dynamics. Adding to this, the effects loop takes pedals well.....REALLY well!... And, the transparency 'with a Fender flavor' that is often spoken of when referring to these is delivered in spades.
Then, the Burn channel.... I am at a loss for words at exactly how versatile the cascading gains (Gain + Saturation knobs) are. I can get from 50's Tweed to 'full on' Triple Rectifier and then back it off into JCM territory.... it really is unbelievable, and all of this with the added bonus of being able to clean it up from the guitars volume that you only get with real tube drive/distortion.
I went down the Blackface esthetic, adding after sales blackface knobs, with a blue Amp Jewel(see below)..... it is just delicious.
Only 3 problems....
1. Switching between channels could be quieter with an added capacitor....
2. The Amp Jewel housing needs to be replaced to use....well....Amp Jewels (and the red LED didn't help....why not White?).
3. I would have liked to see a pot on the back determining FX Loop gain, could have been a perfect boost 'cheat'.
Luckily, I have had all of these 'mods' done by my 'friendly neighborhood techie' and honestly, it's the best amp I have ever owned....
by some distance.....

Everything you could want, in one perfect package.
First off, it looks amazing; the blond/oxblood colour scheme is just beautiful. Secondly, it sounds incredible. The clean channel sounds like a Deluxe ... until you stomp on the 'Fat' switch, at which point it sounds like a Bassman but without the practical drawbacks. With two gain controls that interact with one another, it's easy to get exactly the overdriven sound you want from the Burn channel, although the two voices of the clean channel sound so good you'd be forgiven for never bothering to switch.
22 watts and one 12" mean it's easily portable and fits on any stage, plus it's plenty loud enough for rehearsals and small gigs. The effects loop makes life a lot easier (set 'em up by the amp, switch the loop on when you need them).
All in all, I'm very very happy indeed with my little Super-Sonic. Highly recommended!

I have a bit of a problem with crunchy breakup even having never run the clean volume above "4" and installing a JBL K-120. If I had it to do over again, I might go for the 60W version and its headroom. For most, this won't be an issue. I just love CLEAN Fender sound. Save for that one complaint, this is the ultimate club gig amp. It sounds terrific, has plenty of volume, is extremely versatile, has a great 4-switch pedal, won't break your back when you pick it up and is a great overall value. I like the "fat" sound option on occasion. The switchable effects loop is handy too. The reverb (like most Fender reverbs) would benefit from a dwell control so we could get deep 'verb that doesn't go on forever.

Excellent blues amp , paired with a Eric Johnson strat. Great tones clean or distorted.

First let it be said that this is my first tube amp. I have 3 solid-state amps, one which is a Fender. This new acquisition was and is the best amp I own. But the design is flawed. I get great tone out of this amp without trying too hard; the tone is not the problem. The reverb tank will feedback, as the powerful Eminence designed magnet must be too close to the reverb tank, 'cause once it gets started it will howl (especially when the reverb setting is above 8). The design is the only thing I downgraded. This is my second SS22: the first one came with two blown tubes and reverb howl above 4, which I returned to the dealer. I will need to get an American product fixed right out of the box. But I am gonna do it, because I am a reverb hound- I just can't get enough.
I have different era Fender guitars: CBS-1970 Strat, FMIC-1990 Strat Ultra, and a 2007 Baja Tele. Each one has its own personality and sound. This amp can really make each guitar sing with distinct tone. I have been using my pedalboard thru the effects loop, but I don't really need it. The dual stage gain channel, the vintage/fat channel and volume control are all you need. It is really LOUD for 22 watts, even though I mic my output to the PA. It is also light in weight, a definite requirement for an old guy.
