The FSR American Stratocaster® Rustic Ash introduces a visually striking new Strat® style. It features a never-before-seen brown anodized aluminum pickguard, which accentuates the attractive wood grain visible through the ash body's elegantly faded satin lacquer finish. Together, these create a complete aesthetic entirely new in nearly six decades of Stratocaster design.
Other premium features include a tinted maple neck with satin urethane back finish, 9.5"-radius maple (Surf Green model) or rosewood (Olympic White model) fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, three Texas Special™ single-coil Strat pickups with five-way switching, aged white control knobs (master volume and "no load" tone control), and two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with vintage-style bent steel saddles and high-mass block.

Right out of box this guitar was perfectly set up to play. Attached tremolo, tuned it and after a short break in of the strings this guitar stays in tune with no issues at all. The ash body gives an incredible resonance and the complete design is impeccable.

I have been collecting and playing Fenders for many years. My favorite guitar is a 1957 Fender Duo Sonic due to its fantastic pickups, (reverse polarity which act as hum bucking single coils) and its aluminum pick guard. It is such a quiet guitar that all the subtleties of the instrument come thru in spades. It's pure genius from Leo himself! I've been waiting for Fender to produce a Strat with these features for YEARS and Fender has finally delivered. This is an incredible guitar - awesome craftsmanship, ease of playing and quiet as they come. No 60 cycle hum due to the reverse polarity in position 2 or 4 on the five way switch (the mid pickup is reverse wound) and NO radio interference due to the blocking of the aluminum pick guard. Thank you Fender!
My only criticism of the guitar is the flat finish of the body and the back of the neck. I put some high end carnuba wax on it, let it dry, then hand polished it and the guitar came to life. Stunning. I bought the surf green ash model and the ash is gorgeous - as good as the ash on the 56 custom shop strat. The texas specials are full of life and harmonics and fit the ash body perfectly. If hesitating - don't. This is a fantastic guitar.

This strat is a blast to play and the Texas specials are a great pick up which fit the guitar perfectly. Comes with a great case that is better than the SKB ones in many ways. It has 2 covered storage spots. Very impressed with the quality build of the strat, and the grain looks awesome.

While this is not the priciest Strat in the market, I am totally and happily surprised for the craftmanship Fender puts into this model. The aluminum is apparently unique so this can become a collector's item the moment you take the case, and the guitar home.
Combine this with a boss effects generator, a Fender bulb amp and you can perform like a pro, no doubt.
The case included is very elegant (black & black), and the sound...what can I tell you, American Strats are unparalleled.
