I love the neck. very soft v. It flattens out pretty quickly. The pickups are really versatile and the guitar has a great tone. I bought it online and wasn't sure if I was going to like the color, but its really pretty. Couldn't be happier with it.

I agonized for a long time over this and the 60th anniversary guitar with the gold hardware, but this just felt better. The only other option was a surf green FSR but the C-shape compared to this compound V is just not the same.
The finish is amazing especially with direct sunlight on it. Looks great under lights too. Plays great, and the tone through the fat fifties is unbelievable. I have tried this through a mesa dual rec, and my little HT5 and it just cuts through so well.
Sounds best obviously adding a tubescreamer for all the usual tones Hendrix, Cream etc, but incredibly, with heavy distortion really sings. Must be the added weight from the pickguard.
Really happy with my purchase. Will start saving for a designed by me guitar next, based on this amazing compound v.

I would rather wait a few months before posting a review but as this is a special run I thought I would get my first impressions down after playing the one I recently bought and played all last night and a bit of this morning.
Picking up playing guitar again three years ago after a long spell away from it, I decided that I would of course like a proper Strat. When I was a kid a guitar was a guitar but now of course I know that there are hundreds of things that matter so I have spent quite a while reading up and I am definitely very very happy with my purchase.
It has an amazing colour to it which I noticed first. The Fender website doesn't really do the look of its guitars too much justice I think. See this one on the wall of a shop and you will take a second look I promise. The build quality is amazing and the set up is the best I have ever experienced in a guitar, right out of the box!
What I really bought this guitar for was all to do with the neck. The 9 to 14 compound radius is brilliant and that, along with the with the soft v profile, rosewood board and my preferred fret size meant I had to pounce pretty much as soon as I saw it.
I did not try it for too long in the shop before I decided that this was the one.
Of course, we all have our own preferences and that's great, but this one, for me, had all of the features together and you don't always get that.
The Sound? Probably should have mentioned that first as that is really what it is all about, but I knew it wouldn't disappoint there.
