Introduced in the early 1950s, the Precision Bass profoundly affected the sound of popular music and quickly became an indispensable instrument for musicians everywhere. It introduced a deep and powerful new sound into the rocking and rolling 1950s and set a new stage for great sounds to come in the ensuing decades.
The Classic Series '50s Precision Bass Lacquer delivers the distinctive 1950s-era look, sound and vibe of those first Fender basses, with vintage style and an authentic nitrocellulose lacquer finish on its alder body. Other features include a "C"-shaped maple neck, 7.25"-radius maple fingerboard with 20 vintage-style frets and black-dot inlays, vintage-style split single-coil pickup, gold anodized pickguard, four-saddle American Vintage bass bridge, and vintage-style reverse tuners. Tweed case included.

As a 30 yr. exclusive Fender bass player. Initially I was very concerned about having an instrument shipped through the mail, but luckily I was home when UPS arrived. Unpacked bass - everything looked great, intonation was right on, good action, pickups were adjusted perfectly, tuning was only a half step flat(?!)across the board. Neck joint nice and tight, no flaws in the finish. This instrument is very playable with classic p-bass tone (stock pickups sound great) Neck has a great feel to it (razor thin from fretboard to back of neck) Being a Jazz bass guy, I have played p-basses through the years and never liked any of them. (CBS versions, neck too blocky) The metal pickguard had some oily substance on it that felt icky on the hands - replaced it w/ a tort -all is good! In short, I absolutely love this instrument, and can't put it down. I was expecting a good "practice" instrument and found this one was great in it's own right! Very pleased!
