Definitely the best 12-string out there for a 500$ street price. the electronics are a tiny bit dry (not enough for a genuine complaint), but the rest is absolutely amazing! I have had this guitar for only 2 days and I love it already! would definitely recommend. it sounded like every other 1000$ + guitar in the store I was at. Great job fender!

best out of all others

been playing 12 strings for 40 + years , have another fender 12 after 23 years it needs more work than its worth, went to all the box and mom pop music stores, played every 12 in stock, up to $3k + martins/ guilds ect, was really not wanting another fender, but out of all the guitars I tried, this one felt at home . solid comfortable, and sounded big and full, the first one I received had a defect in construction where the neck was not plained right where it met the body, the second one was perfect, did a tweak set up was able to lower the saddle, and groove the nut, the action is amazing for a 12 string, plays like butter, since i play 12 string for 3 + hours a gig, I will most likely switch to silk and steel strings, as they add to the playability, and less fatiuqe , however I will sacrifice a bit of lower end tone.
and yes the controls are in a very stupid place, they need to fix that a.s.a.p.
hoping they make a hardshell case that fits it.

Great 12 String!

I've had this guitar for about two months now. Good action for a 12 string, great sound and it looks great, too! I was at a local music store and I spent nearly an hour comparing all the 12 strings they had in stock in this price range. I narrowed the choices down to three: Takamine, Martin, and this Fender. Playabllity: they were all about equal. Sound/Tone: again, about equal. Looks? The Takamine was a prettier guitar (at a couple of hundred dollars more), the Martin looked like a Martin (I've been playing a Martin 6 string for years). Price, the Fender was less than the other two. Since I'm more into sound/tone as a player, I chose the Fender. I'm very happy I purchased this Fender over the Takamine and Martin. I've used it live and recorded with it; it's just great! My only minor complaint is the positioning of the tuner and pick-up controls. I don't know why Fender decided to place them near the end of the body instead of up near the front towards the neck. Tuning is awkward looking back towards my armpit then reaching way up to the tuning pegs. But that's not a big deal. This guitar holds its tune and sound great! Now, if only Fender made a nice gig-bag for this one, I'd be extra happy. Peace!

Great Buy!

Previous to purchasing the CJ290SCE-12, I was not a big fan of Fender acoustic guitars. Well, that changed about a month ago when I visited a local music store and saw the Fender 12-string hanging on the wall. I pulled it down and played the guitar for quite awhile. I must say, I was truly impressed with the feel, action, and sound. I put it back up the wall without any consideration for purchasing the guitar.

Afterwards, I returned home and began to play my 12-string that I purchased about five-years ago. It was costly, but always liked the sound of it. Well, after playing my 12-string for awhile, I kept comparing the sound of this dreadnought with the Fender Jumbo at the music store. Within fifteen minutes, I came to the conclusion the Fender was a better sounding guitar with better action as well as a beauty.

I returned to the music store a few weeks later and adopted the Fender into the family of several other acoustic guitars that I already own. In conclusion, if you're looking for a great sounding, good feel, and beautiful 12-string, you can't go wrong with the CJ290SCE-12. A great buy and and a buy you will not regret.

Good 12 string

I've played the older brother to this 12 string for nearly 20 years the F310-12. This almost makes me want to trade up. It plays as well as several instruments I've tried costing upwards to 10 times as much.
