I strive to be a mediocre rhythm player. I own a Strat Plus, MIM Strat, Tele, Rick 620, Epi Riviera, and a Squier Venus. This is becoming my favorite guitar to play, knocking the Strat Plus out of first place. The neck just feels right and it delivers a range of tones. I can go from a mellow jazz to a jangly Ric like tone with the flip of a switch. And it sounds great with some overdrive/distortion as well. I worked in Nashville as a recording engineer for a number of years and understand that tone is a vital element in any players toolkit. This guitar is a TONE MONSTER! I dig it!
To all the Jazzmaster "purists" out there, take this guy out for a test drive. You just might like it!

This guitar is the best guitar I've ever owned. I've started playing electric guitar only 30 weeks ago yet I still found it easy to play. It sounds awesome, got great value plus looks really good. The neck was really smooth which is good if you play songs which shift positions. I found this guitar absolutely flawless. So I suggest to start saving.
I bought this, as I like Strats and P90 gold tops...I also like the idea of Jazzmasters...they remind me of the Clint Eastwood Film "Play Misty For Me" for some reason.....plus I also like the CBS Fender logo and large script...I also dont buy Mexican guitars (cheap labour concerns) and Japansese guitars (radiation).....the guitar is notcheap in the UK...$1800. It needed a set up and some things inspection should have sorted (screw tightening)...but all is well now.
I would recommend it...but keep an eye out for ugly grains in the maple..

The title says it all. This guitar is just what the doctor ordered. Reasonably priced, good quality, great tone and wonderful playability. What more could you ask for? I ended up ordering a Fender hard shell case as well and couldn't be happier. Great guitar, great price........

Hi I just purchased my American special Jazzmaster, and it is well worth the money I paid for the guitar. This is one good looking guitar and fun to play. Try one, and I think that you will take the Jazzmaster home just like I did.

I just purchased this guitar in the sunburst finish and I absolutely love it. I am so pumped that fender produced a no frills - american made jazzmaster with humbuckers at an affordable pricepoint. This guitar was exactly what I was looking for. It sounds awesome plugged in or unplugged and the finish looks unreal especially in the sun.
Im a student...and this was a big purchase...but it was worth every cent! Twin reverb is my next on my purchase list. Thanks guys!
