The Pete Wentz Precision Bass® guitar is a darkly beautiful instrument that'll rock your face off. It's all sleek and black and stuff, and it's loaded with cool features like Pete's own red bat/heart design on the body, plus a black bat/diamond Fingerboard inlay at the 12th fret, Wentz's signature on the back of the headstock, an eye-catching three-ply red shell pickguard and a thunderous Duncan Designed™ PB-105 split single-coil pickup.

I bought this bass when I was about 15, 5 years ago, and it worked out swell for me. This bass is super chill and works very well as a practice bass. I bought it because I was a fan of fall out boy as well and looks cool to me. Despite only having a volume knob it still gives you a good quality tone for a squier. It all depends on the amp you put it through though to make it sound good (I prefer any fender bassman or Rumble 350/rumble 30 amps.) Its jazz bass neck gives a good kind of feeling to it(especially if you end up playing a lot of chordal kind of stuff on it) because the strings are closer together unlike a normal precision bass with a precision bass neck. I dig the maple neck. The only bad thing about it is the input jack on the bass seems to come loose a lot and you have to get it repaired too many times. Also the strap hooks come unloose too easily (I re-soldered mine plenty of times to fix the problem) but not many upcoming bassists know how to do that at first; I was just lucky enough to know how to because of my parents being musicians. Anyway, decent bass for a beginner.

I chose to purchase this as my first bass due to being a fan of the band Fall Out Boy, whose bass player Pete Wentz this bass was custom made for. Despite my bias for giving this a good review due to being a fan the the artist that it was made for, I honestly believe that it is a good quality bass. It is a Squier so it's not exactly Fender quality but they have done a good job with it nonetheless. It only has a volume knob but as long as you have a good amp that gives you the ability to come up with your own custom sound this shouldn't be an issue. It sounds cool, it looks cool, the price is great, and if you're a fan of Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy it will definitely make you happy. Remember that in the end it is your own skill as a musician that will bring the best out of an instrument. Regardless of whether you're an expert, intermediate or a beginner at playing bass, you should be satisfied with what this model has to offer.
