Reso-Tele®

Reso-Tele®, Maple Fingerboard, 3-Color Sunburst

More about Reso-Tele®

Fender Acoustics now offers you a truly remarkable instrument in the distinctive form of the Reso-Tele, which is exactly what the name suggests—a resonator version of a Telecaster. This unusual design, combined with the Telecaster pickup and under-saddle pickup and electronics, makes for a one-of-a-kind playing experience with an appealingly traditional vibe.

The Reso-Tele has a maple Telecaster body with a stylish Three-color Sunburst finish, stylized Fender "F" sound hole and hand-spun cone crafted in Eastern Europe for rich resonator tone. Its standard Telecaster neck pickup and Fishman® Powerchip™ under-saddle pickup can be blended together to taste, along with a master volume control. Other features include a "C"-shaped maple Telecaster neck with a 15.7"-radius maple fretboard, maple "biscuit" bridge with bell-brass nickel-plated tailpiece, and chrome hardware.

About time!

Blues Rock

I have been looking for an acoustic guitar that has the benefits of a well designed electric: at least 21 frets, good access to the upper frets, strings thin enough to bend. An acoustic that plays like an electric. The Reso Tele has all that plus the convenience of a bolt on neck. I may take that neck off and add a 22nd fret. It also has a 25 1/2" scale. My favourite. I can now practice on an acoustic and not have to put up with all the design short comings of traditional acoustic. Since I got this guitar my other two acoustics rarely get played. I can play right up to the 21st fret without having to take my hand off the neck. I can bend the strings just like on my electrics. What this guitar gives away in resonance and tone to traditional acoustics , it more than makes up in the ability to bend strings and play far up the neck. I play Urban Blues and Rock and this is the first acoustic that doesn't hamstring my playing with dogmatic, conservative design. It's about time! I'm not surprised Fender was the first company to be this progressive.

Finally, a great sounding reso, excellent playability, well balanced tone, and fender playability. The piezo pickup adds so much to the sound but I just mic'd it up and wow it sounds better than my square neck resonator. I went direct and dialed the tone control right in without fussing on my super reverb. This is gonna be a great gigging guitar and serve well recording. It's killer. Thanks Fender !
