I'm from Brazil and got this bass in January 2012. It has always been my dream of consumption. Today, it is a total pleasure whenever I play, regardless of style. Thank Fender ..

I have always wanted to own an American-made Fender. And now I finally laid my hands on the awesome American Deluxe Jazz Bass natural finish. It was a toss-up between this and the Marcus Miller V but opted for this because, although I am a Marcus Miller fan, the MM V was a bit too "in-your-face". Thanks, Fender.

Great Instrument

axan on February 21, 2013 (updated February 21, 2013)
Professional Blues R&B Funk

I wanted this Bass, first of all because it's gorgeous. I got the natural finish and it's a beautiful instrument. Second of all, you can only get this tone in one place. Fender Jazz. It's a unique tone... "The Funkmaster" I call it. This version, with its 18V preamp lives up to that tone and then some. You can have it passive or active with a flick of a switch to give you more versatility. I got it at a great price and all in all it's worth the money. This is an instrument that you hand down to your kids. The only complaints I have is that it's more susceptible to noise than I would expect. The "Noiseless" pickups are most certainly not noiseless. For being a top of the line model, more care should be taken to shield this instrument. It was a little bit of a handful to get used to coming from an Ibanez, but that's not really a con, per say. I just needed to get used to playing a Fender. Don't hesitate though if you have the dough... Great buy.

The best all around bass, with lots of tonal capability, amazing wood grain pattern, top class craftmanship and "buttery" feel!! Fender really nailed this one.

This was my first Fender-bass and I dont regret anything. It was much money for me to spend, but this bass is simply awesome!
Every feature is useful, sounds great and feels great.

I already wrote a review in German, here is the link: http://www.musiker-board.de/reviews-bass/505215-bass-fender-american-deluxe-jazzbass-rw-ow-2011-a.html

So, if you can get the money, spend it in this great instrument, you will love it also in 20 years!

Unique Tonal Qualities

Professional Blues Gospel Jazz Rock Classic Rock Bluegrass

I purchased the white with rosewood neck about 8 months ago. I have, and still own basses from other manufacturers in this price range. I can honestly say the craftsmanship is comparable with my other basses in this range. The difference is in the tone. The Fender American Deluxe Jazz has many tones that can only come from the design and features of this bass. It can sound down low and dirty, to bright, clean, and distinct. It will fill many musical styles. If you've never owned this bass try one through your favorite amp. You will be very pleased!

DELUXE

BassBignBad on February 18, 2013
Semi-Professional R&B Jazz Alternative Rock Classic Rock Pop Rock Heavy Metal Punk

The American Deluxe Jazz is for the bass player who wants classic Fender Jazz Tone and a little bit more. You get a little bit more in the onboard preamp's ability to condition the tone and a little bit more in the 22 fret neck.... another E! The shape of the body is sleek and sexy and lighter than the Standard Jazz. And all in all the guitar is sleeker in design and more 'modern' looking. But it's still a Fender Jazz!

My favorite and first Fender

(5.0)
vzsozs on February 18, 2013
Semi-Professional Blues Funk Jazz

I wanted a Fender Jazz Bass since I was 14. With hard work and dedication, I finally could afford a Fender, and to my total surprise, the USA Deluxe series was redesigned to my exact dream specs of my wish - the color, the playability, the hardware and electronics - all of them were packed in this bass. So I went ahead and bought the Natural USA Deluxe Jazz Bass in 2010. The playability is astonishing, many fellow bass players from amateur to professional have tried my bass and always wonder how I got the action so low. There are no secrets: it's just an awesome Fender.
