Your new Workhorse

I bought this guitar back in the cold wet month of January 2014, in truth I wasn't looking to get a Fender, I was heading towards a Tanglewood or a Yamaha, but I was handed this (the last one I tried) and I didn't give the previous eight I tried another thought.
From the outset it's a smart looking instrument; good top, nice abalone inlay, smart finish on the frets and a rather beautiful maple laminate on the back (shame you're the only one who gets to see that bit).
Picking it up as primarily an electric player (Old LPs and Teles), I was initially grabbed by how comfortable it is; the neck's matte finish is a nice touch and gets you playing straight away - none of the sticky gunky feeling as you move around. I was also surprised how loud this is for a Jumbo, even before it was plugged into an amp it had a nice tone and able to withstand a good strum and some quite finger picking.
Plugging in the options available on the presys pickup becamse quite apparent, the EQ is responsive and the option of changing the phase are really useful appointments, as is the discrete tuner .
I won't bang on with the usual 'guitary' tone talk - you'll either like it or you won't, but what I will say is that this has very quickly become my go-to guitar for acoustic recording of playing live. A very well made piece of kit.

How sweet the sound

This is one of the most amazing guitars that I’ve picked, played and taken home. This is my first jumbo body guitar that five owned. Let me tell you, worth every penny. From the workmanship, to the sound, to the electronics with a built in tuner… this guitar screams high quality. I own three other acoustic and I find myself playing the CJ290-SCE more than the others. I do wish a little more design went into the position markers on the fret board and head stock, But the amazing sound and feel make up for it. If you’re looking for a quality acoustic guitar without paying thousands… look no further. If you're good and want to sound better? This axe is it!!!

Fender CJ 290SCE a great guitar

(5.0)

Amateur Blues Jazz Classical

This guitar is constructed seriously, which emphasizes immediately is its great loudness, clean, crystalline and powerful, a very natural sound where the wood like person in charge is perceived. This guitar can work perfectly without amplifier and gives the stature. At the time of touching it is of most comfortable than I know since the width of the tuning fork and the thickness of the mast are excellent. I have had to lower the action because it came very high from factory, this takes control of the key that brings and sandpapering the chair of the bridge, I have left it perfect now, with the cords that bring goes to size. The amplifier is simple but a very correct and powerful sound makes its work perfectly, in addition it takes built-in tuner. In summary this guitar precious, very either is constructed, comfortable, is touched or and the main thing is that it sounds like a guitar of the high range, I have six and this is the one that better sounds. Reason why this guitar in a purchase excellent, better costs than other than triple it in price. If it lost it, would buy another equal one now.

Sounds like music to my ears

Amateur Classic Rock Folk Bluegrass

I absolutely recommend this guitar for any serious guitar player. I purchased the CJ-290SCE a few months ago at Morris Music, Saint John, New Brunswick. I was with a friend who was looking to buy a new guitar and while he was searching I came across this beautiful instrument. I put Elixir: Nanoweb light strings on it and it sounds fantastic. The action was perfect for my style of playing, and the fret space was more the accommodating, as i used to play on a Yamaha. I find that it sounds great and you could easily drown out any other guitar without an amp, as the jumbo shape makes the guitar project its tone right at you. Great for group play and solo play the Cj-sce adds a great bass sound to whatever your playing, and is a fantastic guitar for finger picking. The price for this guitar is fair and definitely worth it.
